Happy (almost) weekend! It’s Friday and I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for another edition of Friday Favorites. Be sure to check out some of these fun ladies and their favorites as well!
Fall weather calls for firepits and s’mores. Last weekend we started off the season with a fun backyard s’more session!
Over the years we’ve modified the basic s’mores recipe and found some new favorites. My daughter and I love swapping milk chocolate for Reese’s Cups. My husband likes white chocolate instead of regular chocolate. Really, I am not picky when it comes to s’mores…give me any kind!
This is the first fire that we used these new roasting sticks that we got my husband for Father’s Day. He is a safety first kind of guy and always very worried about the kids being too close to the fire. These sticks extended almost 3 feet away and were a huge hit! Everyone got to pick their favorite color. It’s the little things that make these kids happy! The sticks are stored in a cute bag too. I’m a sucker for organized sets!
Another Friday favorite is all things pumpkin! This week I made a trip to Trader Joe’s to shop all their pumpkin favorites. My TJs is not in a convenient location and parking is tough so it is not a weekly place for me to shop. But every time I go there I find so many fun things to try. This trip my youngest son and I found A LOT of pumpkin! We even got pumpkin dog treats for our pup!
We love the pumpkin pancake mix. It’s a yearly favorite. The large pumpkin cookies were selected by my shopping assistant. Hard to say no when he pushes his own cart around the store. Barley loved his dog treats!
This weekend we are headed to North Carolina for my younger sister’s wedding. Family road trips are always fun…well…at least when we arrive at our destination! The kids actually do well since we load them up with snacks and screen time. I made sure to go to the library and stock up on new to them movies and books. A little mom tip for you, check out if your library has Playaway game pads for loan. These devices are loaded with age specific, mainly educational games. Its fun because they games are different that their usual favorites and its a special treat to play games all day!
There’s also taking a nap with the drive gets boring! You might notice a lottery ticket in his lap. We also reward the kids with a ticket on long road trips!
We are looking for to a weekend of family time and memories. The views aren’t too bad either…
Finally, I like to share some informative finds on the web. This article is helpful if you are a parent to a tween (or soon to be). It talks about navigating social media.
That wraps up my favorites from the week! Hope you have a wonder weekend and Happy Fall!
