Welcome to another edition of Friday Favorites as I link up Erika, Narci and Andrea to bring you my favorites from the week. This week has been filled with Christmas decorating, a visit to our new children’s museum and some new book discoveries for kids!
Last weekend we got to work decorating for Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I have to get all of my decorations up in one day. I don’t like having all of the boxes lying around. So last Friday, my house started covered in a sea of boxes and ended 100% decorated for the holidays. Phew!

It was a very long day and I didn’t sit down until everything was put away! But I feel a sense of relief that it is all up for us to enjoy for the next month.
Our trees are less than perfect, but filled with lots of our kids’ favorite ornaments. I’ll take a kid friendly tree while I can as I know it is not forever!
Does anyone else love Little People as much as I do?! I just love getting out our Nativity and Christmas Village sets!
**Next Tuesday, I will be sharing a holiday home tour along with other bloggers, so be sure to stop by!***
My youngest and I ventured to the new Cleveland Children’s Museum this week and we were thrilled with the new space! The museum has several different areas to explore, including a large water exhibit, climbing structures with several pretend play areas and a miniature world where kids can design rooms and small houses. My guy was the perfect age for this place but I know my older kids would love this space just as much!
We enjoyed these climbing structures and all of the pretend play areas. I didn’t get a picture of the play kitchen, but it was absolutely adorable and was a total replica of a designer kitchen!
My little guy loves water, so we spent the bulk of the time playing in that area. I should have brought a change of clothes, because, despite the smock they provided, he was soaked!
It’s nice spending one on one time with this guy, but I do miss those days of having all three of my kids at home with me. Time goes too fast!
Besides our own in Cleveland, we’ve been to two other children’s museums around the country including Denver and Pittsburgh. I would love to hear your recommendations for other city children’s museums!
I’ve talked about my family’s love of reading and specifically about my love of Scholastic books. This past week, the kids had their Scholastic book fair and as always we end up with a few more books than planned. I don’t feel bad as the kids read them as soon as they get them and often times read them again!
While I was helping out at the fair, I came across this book She Persisted 13 American Women Who Changed the World. This book is perfect for girls both big and small. The message is so beautiful and inspiring and talks about women that did amazing things despite their circumstances. I plan to pick up a few copies of this book for gifts for a few young ladies I know!
Speaking of books, over on Instagram, I shared another great book There’s Certainly a Santa which helps parents manage the inevitable questions about the big guy. This is a perfect book for those kids who are ready to be let in on the big secret. It shares the real magic of Santa in a sweet and gentle way that helps kids still feel that Christmas magic. Today is the last day for a giveaway I am doing with Certainly Santa on Instagram so be sure to check it out! There is also a discount code for 15% off and free shipping (through Dec 12th) for my followers CAS15 to order a copy of the book! You can order HERE!
I won’t be posting on Monday since I will be participating in the Home Tour link up on Tuesday! Have a wonderful weekend and see you back here next week!
