What’s Up Wednesdays: March Favorites

Happy Wednesday! I am participating in a fun link up  up with ShaySheaffer, and Mel for What’s up Wednesdays. It’s nice to look back on the month and review some of our March Favorites!

What we’re eating this week….

Nothing too note worthy! We have a lot of evening activities so this week, our meals are simple and thrown together! We had tacos on Monday and leftovers on Tuesday. The rest of the week is whatever you can find in the fridge because not all of us will be home together for dinner!

I am still loving my Sunday afternoon snack prep that I started in early March! Each week I make several snacks and breakfasts for the week ahead.

This week I prepared: egg breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, hard boiled eggs, pumpkin muffins and fruits and veggies.

These easy breakfast sandwiches are an absolute family favorite! On Monday, as the kids were eating breakfast, I made a batch of breakfast sandwiches in minutes! While the bacon was in the oven (350 degrees for 20 minutes or less), I scrambled up some eggs, toasted the English muffins and put a slice of cheese on each muffin. Then, when the bacon was out of the oven and cooled, I added the eggs and bacon to each sandwich. Finally,  I wrapped the sandwiches in foil and put in a plastic storage bag to store in the freezer!

Helpful hint (from my daughter): Put a paper towel under the sandwich when heating up in the microwave so that the sandwich does not get soggy!

What I’m reminiscing about…

Initially I didn’t think we did a whole lot in March, but when I scrolled through my pictures on my phone, I realized we did have a lot of fun!

First, we welcomed a new furry addition to our home! My daughter adopted a hamster! I have to admit that this little guy is really cute!

I’m proud of my daughter for taking full responsibility of her pet.  She is really mothering him and giving him so much attention! Every time we bring a new pet home, we say it will be our last one!! I really mean it this time…

Also, we had a lot of fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! We had an easy after school lucky charm treat one day…

Then, the boys did their best to try and trap a leprechaun! The leprechaun came with gold coins but he escaped the trap! Better luck next year!

Speaking of reminiscing, does anyone else get teary eyed every time those Facebook memories pop up in your news feed?

March Favorites St. Patricks Day Fun

One of my favorite St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with the kids! Now, my kids have gotten so big, none of them will wear the shamrock headband! Don’t worry, I still wore it…just to embarrass them:)

We finished up the month with a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. My little guy was all about yellow this day!

Lastly, we are still thinking about the Toyota Highlander we got to test drive earlier in the month! We are in a need of a new car and debating on what kind of car will fit our needs. I gave my honest review on the Highlander and considerations you need to make when deciding on a minivan or SUV.

What I’m wearing…

Well, on a typical weekday, I’m wearing workout clothes by day and pajamas by evening.  I am ready for a change from my winter clothes! I did order a few warmer weather things this month, so hopefully the temperature turns soon.

I took advantage of triple points at Nordstrom last weekend and couldn’t resist these adorable Baublebar earrings! This is my first Baublebar purchase!

Baublebar has the most colorful and fun jewelry!

Also, I ordered these sandals and I’m hoping they are as comfy as they are cute! These sandals are a bit of a splurge but less expensive than Birkenstocks. I LIVED in my Birkenstocks last summer, so it’ll be nice to have another pair of similar sandals.

Also, it appears that back packs have made a comeback (maybe they were never out?!) and I decided to get on board with the look! I picked up a Scout Back Story Mini Backpack from a local boutique in town. The size of this bag is perfect and I think it’ll be great for our upcoming spring break trip! It is water resistant, so it’ll be very durable for taking out and about with the family!

Once I clean out my closet for the season, I’ll see if there is anything else that I will want for the summer months.

What I’m dreading…

As much as I am looking forward to spring time weather, I am dreading the outdoor clean up that comes with the season. We are due for a major garage clean out!

Getting the Garage Organized

While the pictures might not make this space look “too” bad, do not be fooled. We have a lot of work ahead in the next month!

I’m also also bracing myself for the flurry of end of school year stuff that is about to descend upon us!  Once spring break is over, the school year flies! This makes me excited for summer but also gets me sad that my kids will soon be in another grade!

What I’m looking forward to…

We are most excited that Easter is in four sleeps! Although, we still have eggs to dye and outfits to pick out for the holiday!

Next week we head on a family trip to Washington, D.C. Thank you for all of your ideas and suggestions for our trip! Keep sending them my way if you have any more recommendations!

I am already starting to get organized for our trip and I am working on a post soon about how we get organized for a trip. Last fall, I shared ideas on how to get organized AFTER a trip!

Finally, we are looking forward to getting outside this spring! I’ve been trying to brighten up the house  as much as I can with all the flowers and plants (since the weather isn’t very warm and sunny here).

However, I am looking forward to sprucing up our front door area and planting our garden!

What I am working on….

I’ve been working on organizing everyone’s closets! This time of year, I am trying to go through the family’s clothes and see what they need for the summer season! Our next Clear the Clutter Challenge is on Monday, April 9th and the area of focus is CLOSETS! You can always join our Clear the Clutter FB group for more information and ideas!

I had fun picking out some new summer clothes for my daughter! I think she is about all set for the season between new items and what she already has from last year!

I shared this picture on Instagram stories the other day…

Now I need to go through both boys closets plus my own clothes!

That about wraps up some of my March favorites! Hopefully, by the time the next What’s Up Wednesday rolls around, we will be in full on spring mode!!

Have a wonderful week!

Addy has a hamster too, got it in October. She named it Dusty Rose. It is slowly becoming my job instead of hers. How is Charlotte doing with her little furry friend?
