Woohoo it’s Friday! This week has been a bit nutty with a husband out of town and a million and one kids’ activities! But we survived and I am so excited for the weekend! Today, as usual, I am sharing my favorites of the week and I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites.
May Madness
I know all you parents can relate, May is a CRAZY time of year! Our calendar is filled to the brim with end of year ceremonies and celebrations, sports activities, shows, you name it! I’m trying to keep it all in perspective because these things are all FUN (well mostly!). I sure do appreciate this season of life that I am in and I know it will not be forever. But sometimes the day to day hustle is a lot to manage.
With my husband out of town for the entire week, I didn’t have a moment to spare (or to myself). So, I treated myself to some flowers and a new doormat (that we needed) and I felt like a new mom! Sometimes, self care is just buying the flowers that you’d normally skimp on!
The kids and I are excited for my husband to come home later today!
Summer Decor Updates
In the midst of a busy time, I did manage to make a few colorful updates around the house. Is it just me or does decorating sound better than folding four loads of laundry?! Yup laundry is still on my to do list of the week:)
On Wednesday, I shared some simple ways to add some color and fun to the home! It’s always fun to make a few changes for the season. I had a lot of fun creating this flamingo themed tray with Target dollar spot finds!
We are getting ready for summer with our SUMMER FUN Chalkboard! 19 days left of school…but who’s counting?!
Goldfish Swim Giveaway
Did you happen to catch my giveaway on Monday? I have partnered with Goldfish Swim School for National Water Safety Awareness month for an exciting GIVEAWAY! One reader will win a one week Jumpstart Clinic (valued at $110). These jumpstart clinics are offered all summer long and run for five consecutive days!
These clinics are a great way to kick off swimming season! My kids have taken Jumpstart clinics and it always gives them the push they need to work through some of the tougher skills! My youngest takes weekly lessons at Goldfish, but you do not need to be enrolled in classes to sign up for a Jumpstart Clinic! Check HERE to see if you have a Goldfish location near you!
Be sure to head to my Monday post to enter!! Deadline to enter is Friday, May 18th!
Parenting Moments
Our youngest son can really give us a run for our money..especially at bedtime! The other day he was up to his usual stall tactics and we were having a tough time getting him to focus! At one point, he hid behind his curtains (to avoid putting on pajamas) and we didn’t hear a word. My son then says he has something to show my husband. At this point, my husband, a bit exasperated, can’t imagine what our son is talking about, heads over to the window. My little guy points out a nest with the TINIEST baby birds that might have been born THAT day! It was the sweetest thing!
This nest is just a few feet from our window, so we have enjoying watching this family all week! It is so cute to see the mother bird feeding her babies. A sweet little story for us to watch…just in time for Mother’s Day:)
***********************************************************************
That about wraps up the week! I better get to that laundry pile:) Or perhaps sitting in my new favorite porch spot sounds a bit more fun!
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Mother’s Day weekend!!
