2018 Blog Wrap Up

Happy New Year’s Eve! I hope you had a great holiday week. We have been a little crazy–between the usual holiday activities, traveling and then throw in some sickness! Ugh! I am ready for 2019 to get started. Before we say goodbye to 2018, I wanted to do a wrap up on the blog and share some of the highlights and statistics! It’s been a fun and rewarding year! It’s hard to believe, but last year when I did a blog recap at this time, I had only been blogging for four months! Sixteen months later, I am still having a lot of fun. Thank you for all of your support on this little blog of mine! Now, let me share the details!!

Blog Stats

Last year, I shared some of my blog statistics and so I wanted to do the same this year. It’s easy to play the comparison game and think I could do so much more! But when I think back to where I started, I realize how much the blog has grown.

Total Views in 2018: 115, 000 + (2017: 17, 500)

Total Blog Posts: 143 (2017: 46)

Total Blog Comments: 1900 ( 2017: 500+)

The blog has gained a lot more traffic in the last four months, so I hope it continues to trend upwards in 2019.

2018 Blog Highlights

This year, I got to work with over 100 awesome companies both big and small. Some of these collaborations were specifically on Instagram and others were both on the blog and other social media platforms.

It is hard to pick favorites, but here are a few fun partnerships!

House of Crazi (letter art)

Night in Boxes

Kerri Makes (personalized plates)

Red Baron

Babybel Cheese

Some local Cleveland opportunities included:

Cleveland Auto Show

Cleveland Candle Company

Laura of Pembrooke Grand Opening

Goldfish Swim School

Card My Yard (family favorite!!)

My biggest accomplishment was getting the chance to be on TV. In August, I was on the local news sharing Tips for Packing School Lunches. The opportunity was certainly one of the biggest I have gotten from this blog. I am so thankful!!

The most viewed posts on the blog include a little bit of everything–home decor, fashion and organization.

5. Trendsend Subscription Box Review February 2018

I love a good subscription box and Trendsend is one of my favorites! I just tried out Stitch Fix in December (another popular post) and I plan to continue with both subscriptions in 2019. While I love hitting the stores for home decor or for clothes for my family, I rarely get to the stores to shop for clothes for myself. So I love having a “personal shopper” to do the work for me.

4. Amazon Fall Home Favorites

This year I joined Tanya from The Other Side of the Road for a monthly Amazon link up. I love finding home decor deals on Amazon!! The Amazon fall finds post in September was the 4th most popular blog post of the year. The next Amazon link up is on January 7th, 2019!

3. Friday Favorites: Kirklands Grand Opening and Fall Decor Finds

This year, I continued with the weekly Friday Favorites link up. I posted 49 out of the 50 weeks (I couldn’t get my act together last week!). This particular Friday Favorites post was the third most viewed post on the blog. I think it had to do with the fact that I shared all the details on the Kirklands grand opening! Kirklands is my new favorite home decor store!!

2. Functional Farmhouse Favorites

Earlier in the year I shared my kitchen farmhouse favorites! It seems like we all like to talk about home decor:)

1.30 Minute Spring Cleaning

The number one post of 2018 was 30 Minute Spring Cleaning! I partnered with Bona Mop to share tips and tricks for spring cleaning. I’ll be honest that I was a little surprised that this was the most popular post of the year! I love to get things clean but I don’t like spending all my time doing it! So my spring cleaning was completed in 30 minute increments!

Honorable Mention Post

The Festive and Cozy Christmas Home Tour  post that I wrote just a few weeks ago came in as a close contender for the top five posts! I had the opportunity to connect with five other bloggers for this holiday home tour. The Christmas decorations have already come down, so now I am focusing on a clean and uncluttered home!

I hope to see you back here in 2019:)
