Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! Yesterday, we enjoyed the warm weather. It gave us hope that spring is coming soon! Of course, this weekend, it is back to colder temperatures. It was fun while it lasted. Anyway, as usual I am recapping the week with my Friday Favorites! Sharing a little bit of mom life and my latest favorite finds and products!
St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Charms Desserts
What are your plans for St. Patrick’s Day? My kids need to finish up their Leprachaun trap. Every year, the Leprachaun leaves them clues for a scavenger hunt to find a pile of “gold”. Hint: You can get gold coins at the bank!
Earlier this week, I made two St. Patrick’s Day lucky charms desserts. First, I made this easy Lucky Charms marshmallow treat or an after school snack. My kids love anything with Lucky Charms and Marshmallows. So, these white chocolate and Lucky Charms dipped marshmallows were a hit!
If you have a St. Patrick’s Day party to go to this weekend or if you just want to get festive with your family, these treats would be perfect!
Adventures in Bread Making
Recently, I have been on a homemade bread making kick. I’ve been making different versions of homemade bread for several years. First, I started out with a breadmaker machine and more recently, I have been making recipes that do not use a bread machine. Homemade break takes a lot of trial and error. I have had a lot of unsucessful experiences. But, when the bread does turn out well, it makes the process all worth it. Bread from the store can not even compete with homemade bread!
Anyway, recently, I was inspired to get back into making bread, after I ordered this Bread Baking for Beginners book. It is an easy to follow book and each recipe builds on the skills you have learned from the previous one.
I started with the most basic No-Knead recipe in the book and I was amazed that the bread turned out so well! It is seriously a labor of love to make bread because your eyes have to always be on the clock and to keep track of what you need to do next. But I’m finding it is actually a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
I can’t wait to make another recipe…hopefully this weekend!
Now that the weather is turning, it is nice to be able to swap out boots with gym shoes. I found a pair of casual athletic shoes, similar to this pair, at Marshalls and I have been living in them. I’ve been looking for a pair like these for awhile!
These are the perfect kind of shoe to wear around town. I also love my converse for a casual look, but these Nike shoes feel a little more sporty. Plus, they are super comfy, so I could see wearing these all day if you have a lot of walking to do.
