Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! We are trying to stay cool over here. Today, it is supposed to be 96 degrees! Anyway, it has been a fun week and now I am wrapping things up with Friday Favorites. Sharing favorites in home, style and family!
Amazon Prime Day
Did you grab anything during Amazon Prime Days? We were anxiously waiting for a few Amazon deliveries to show up on our porch.
We got the Ring Alarm Security System to replace our current, monthly security service. It will be great to save almost $50 per month!
Besides the Ring System, my 10 year old used his own money to buy an Amazon Dot. It arrived within a day and we have been having fun with the Dot ever since! We are a little late to party on this device as it seems like everyone we know has one. But, I have to admit that the Dot is a lot of fun.
Some things the Dot can do include:
Set Alarms (wake up, timers, reminders, etc.)
Stay Organized (Alexa, add bananas to my shopping list.)
Play Music (from Amazon Prime)
Tell a Bedtime Story and Play Bedtime Music
Answer Questions (Alexa, tell me who the 15th President was.., How many ounces in a cup?)
You can “drop in” on Alexa from your phone. (Tell your kids it’s time for dinner or time to get off their video games:0)
There are even more things the Dot and Alexa can do –we are just getting started. I ended up ordering another one as a gift for my daughter. She will like all of the reminder and music features.
Target Dollar Spot Finds
My kids don’t even want me to mention the word SCHOOL, but it seems like the stores are already thinking back-to-school! We still have about 5 weeks of summer break to go! However, my daughter and I were at Target the other day and we spotted the cutest SCHOOL DECOR items.
We snagged a few items for our annual Back-to-School family dinner! I like to add a few little decor touches around the house for the 1st Day of School.
This $3 sign was too cute to pass up. It will be a great reminder as we send off the kids on their first day!
There was a lot of rainbow colored items and I also bought this pack of inspirational pencils! Love all the positive messages on each of the pencils.
This rainbow clothes pin sign was too cute! If I had a spot for it, I would sure have brought it home.
I did get these school subject clips. I have a few ideas to use them for our back-to-school dinner.
This beach blue mail holder is so cute!! It would be perfect for a family command center (see our command center HERE) or a mail station! You can not beat the price!
OREO Cookie Taste Test
Yesterday, we had our 2nd annual Oreo cookie taste test. I stock up on different flavors of Oreos for a few weeks. So then, when we have a rainy (or too hot) day, we have a cookie taste test. All the details on our taste test including a PRINTABLE BALLOT you can use are over HERE.
It is a fun activity that even the older kids really seem to enjoy!
You do not have to use Oreos…it can be any food including chips, ice cream, soda…you name it! It is a lot of fun and my kids appreciate the extra cookies remaining after the taste test:) Download the ballot over in this POST!

In case you missed it, earlier this week, I shared my latest Stitch Fix Box! This box was one of my favorites and I had a hard time choosing what to keep. You can read about my entire Stitch Fix Box over HERE!
Also, I’ve shared another fun post on a travel destination, Put-in-Bay, Ohio! It is the perfect place to take your family for a day! There are SO MANY kid friendly attractions on Put-in-Bay. Check out my review of the TOP TEN places to take your family on Put-in-Bay!
Don’t miss the GIVEAWAY for a four pack of tickets on the Miller Ferry (the most popular way to get to the Island!)
That wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I will be packing up my ten year old son for his week long summer camp. This is is first time at summer camp…send tissues…for me at least!
