Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week. As usual, I am linking up with  Erika, Narci and Andrea. Today, I’m wrapping up my week with some favorite new products, a few fall desserts and a fun announcement.
Fall Fun List
We kicked off the first weekend of Fall with a trip to the pumpkin patch! We checked this tradition off a little earlier than usual in the fall but we have a busy October so I wanted to make sure we fit it in. You can read about our entire Fall Fun List here.
I am hoping our pumpkins will last until October. I just read about a technique to make pumpkins last longer. Has anyone tried a method like this?!
Another item on our fall list is to make an apple pie! My husband volunteered for this task. His mom is the pie maker of the family, so I have never even attempted to “compete” with her pie making skills. He asked his mom for the recipe and although she doesn’t have a “real” recipe, he was able to replicate pretty well!
Success! The pie was so yummy!
Fudgy Pumpkin Brownies
While I am not a pie maker, I do love baking sweet treats! Yesterday I made these Fudgy Pumpkin Blondies from Paleo Running Momma and they are SOOO good! I did not have almond flour and instead I used regular white flour, so they were not Paleo as in the original recipe.
This dog will not miss an opportunity for an unintentional treat.
This brownies are not quite as sweet tasting as what you might be expecting as there is no white sugar–just coconut sugar and maple syrup.
But, I think they will be perfect with my morning coffee:)
Date Night in Box
If you missed my post yesterday, I shared our most recent Date Night In Box! The theme was Dream Together and it was a very unique date! We got a little serious by focusing on some of our dreams and goals. But we also got a chance to have some laughs too.
Head over to the post to read about the experience plus snag a COUPON CODE for your own Date Night in Box!
Cozy Bedding
I don’t know if you can relate, but selecting sheets and bedding can be a challenge! To me it’s like appliance shopping as it is so hard to sort out the details and to know exactly you need. How high of a thread count do you need? Is cotton or satin better? Do you need to spend a lot of money for good sheets?
So when California Design Den reached out to me about trying out some of their sheets I was excited. Before I agreed to review their bedding I took a look at their shop on Amazon and I was happy to see that they have excellent ratings. I always check out reviews on Amazon before buying. Also, I make sure to look at some of the specific comments because I know the ratings can sometimes be skewed.
Anyway, I selected this sheet set and I am in love!! The sheets are incredibly soft and smooth. I washed them first before we used them and they came out soft from the dryer (unlike another set of sheets we own). I love the dark gray color we selected…fits in perfectly with our room. The fitted sheet has deep pockets so even with our pillow top mattress, they were easy to put on.
Have you ever ironed your sheets? I never have even considered it but, of course, I left the sheets in the dryer too long. After I put them on the bed, I realized how wrinkly they were!
So I put my iron on the steam setting and in 15 seconds the sheets looks great! I was only concerned with the part of the sheets that were showing…because who has time to iron the whole sheet?!
If you are in the market for new sheets, I highly recommend checking out this budget friendly, quality company!
Facebook group
Speaking of good deals, I wanted to share my new Homegoods Happy Facebook group that I have created! My most popular posts on the blog and Instagram are all related to home decor and home finds! So, I created a group specifically to build a community to share home decor finds! I’ll share weekly trips to discount stores including Marshalls, Kirklands, Target , Homegoods and any other store that I find a fun home decor item. You’ll be surprised at some of the unlikely places to find home deals! Members can also ask questions about home decor dilemmas or share their own good finds! Basically it’ll be a place for people who like to find good home decor deals! You can join here!
I am always looking for great deals! A few weeks ago I found the wire tiered basket at a thrift store! Perfect for organizing all of our soaps and sponges!
I’ll still continue to share home decor finds on the blog, but the FB group will include more pictures and finds from the stores. Hope to see you in this fun group!

This is my first time on your website and can I say that I just LOVE the name of your blog! Seeing your cook with your kids bring back memories of when my sisters and myself would help my Mom bake cakes and pies. Those were and are some of my fondest childhood memories.
Lynn-Thanks for stopping by! That is so wonderful that you have these memories…I hope my kids will say the same in years to come!
Pumpkin in brownies? I’ll have to try that. And that bedding! It’s the perfect shade of gray and I love the style – and this site! 🙂
