How to Style a Fall Bar Cart
Do you have a stylish bar area or bar cart in your home? Fall is the perfect excuse to give your bar station a little makeover. Today’s post includes the top Fall Bar Cart Essentials you need this season!
Fun Fall Decor Ideas
Are you starting to get the fall decor bug? In the middle of August, I swear I have no interest in thinking about fall and in fact, I have some dread about bringing out all the fall decor. Then all of a sudden, a “season flip” switches and I am all in. The urge to fall decorate usually starts with one or two new pieces and then a spark is lit and I am ready to bring out all the fall home decor!
This year, the fall bug began after I got this cute PUMPKIN DOORMAT and then moved inside when I spotted these FALL BAR CART TEA TOWELS. Once I saw the Bar Cart towels, I started planning on how to update my bar cart.
Over the last few years, I’ve picked a few key areas of the home to focus on when it comes to seasonal decor. Instead of adding a lot of small decorations all over the place, I tend to group seasonal items in specific spots.
Fall Bar Cart Essentials
One of my favorite spots to decorate in the home is our bar cart! We keep our bar cart in our family room, near our back patio. So, I usually keep the cart stocked with items for both inside and outdoor entertaining.
Even if you don’t have a bar cart, you can still consider a spot in your kitchen, dining or family room to have designated bar station. These areas really come in handy when you are entertaining….or even when it is just your family and you want to have a little more festive family movie night, etc!!
When thinking about a fall bar cart, I first took a look at what I already have on hand in the home and “shopped my own home”.
This year, I ordered the cute bar cart tea towel set and gathered up the rest of the decor from around the house.
I’m putting the finishing touches on this cart and I will share my fall bar cart along with the rest of my fall decor VERY SOON!
You can see my Apple Themed Fall Bar Cart from last year HERE.
In the meantime, here are the must have’s for a fall bar cart! These are items I almost always have on our bar cart!
Favorite Bar Cart ($62.26, Amazon)
First things first, if you do not have a bar cart or a spot in your home to carve out a little drink station, consider getting a bar cart! You will be surprised at how often you use a bar cart. It is not only a great spot to decorate but it can be a very functional space.
We have had this exact bar cart for several years. It is nice to have a bar cart that has wheels.. You can move around to different areas of the house and even bring it outside if you are having a party! Here is what our bar cart looks like in the summer when we are eating outside a lot. We like to keep things hand for dining al fresco.
Fall Letterboard ($21.99, Amazon)
It is so fun to have a letterboard. We love changing the sign for different holidays and seasons. Get creative and pick words or phrases that inspire you and your family! Letterboards are the perfect decor element because you can display all year long. It is good to have decor pieces that can stay out all year long but are adaptable to the different seasons!
Festive Drinkware or Mugs ($14.99 +, Amazon)
I always bring out our copper mugs and copper pitcher for the fall. Copper is a warm tone and it really adds a POP of color to a display. Plus, copper mugs (like these) are perfect for a warm cider drink.
You can serve your favorite warm drink out of this copper pitcher. So pretty! I have a very similar copper pitcher.
If you don’t have copper mugs, you could even display some cute FALL MUGS. These fall mugs are so cute! Just add hot cocoa, coffee or warm cider and you will instantly feel COZY:)
P.S. I love adding paper straws to any drink display. Just put a few in a mug or glass and it adds a fun decor element. My secret for using straws is that I have a pack in several common colors including red striped, black striped and yellow striped. Those colors can really tie into any season, so I just switch up the colors every so often! A big pack of straws is very inexpensive and it can last a long time!
Wood Slice Coasters ($11.40, Amazon)
For another texture and color, add some wood elements to your fall bar cart. I have a wood slice cake pedestal like this one. These wood slice coasters are so FUN and FUNCTIONAL!
Cheese Board or Serving Tray ($29.99, Amazon)
Corral mugs and glassware with a serving tray or cheese platter. These pieces will do double duty as not only are they a great way to display cups and mugs but you can bring them out when you are entertaining! Find a good serving piece and use it all year round. This white marble cheese board would be functional and stylish for any season. Add your copper mugs to the tray for a nice contrast of colors!
Mini Pumpkins
Pumpkins are a perfect filler for any decor space but especially a bar cart. What is fall bar cart without a pumpkin or two? I tend to mix in some real pumpkins with faux ones. But, if I’m being honest, I like faux pumpkins for the indoors because they last forever:) These white pumpkins are the perfect size to fill in a bowl or just on their own on the bar cart!
Fall Banner ($7, Amazon)
The final touch for a fall bar cart is a festive fall banner! Garlands and banners really tie a space together! This fall banner is the perfect size and super simple but totally adorable! The orange leaves on the banner tie in perfectly with pops of orange on the bar cart.
How many of these decor elements do you already own? Once you start decorating a fall bar cart, you will be surprised with how many things you can use around your house. Whether we want to admit it or not, fall is coming! So we might as well be prepared and start decorating:)

I am inspired to decorate for fall even though it’s still so warm out here! I don’t have a bar cart although I do have a wine rack / table, I wonder if I could decorate that for the seasons!
You sure could decorate your wine table!! Please share with me if you do!
Love it! The copper touches are so perfect for fall!
