Hey there! Happy Friday! It is hard to believe another month of 2022 has come and gone. I love this time of year. There is something exciting about the anticipation of summer time! (Perhaps even more exciting than summer itself). This weekend, we plan to clean out our garage and get a few things done around the yard. Weather permitting!
As usual, I am wrapping up the month with a few favorites in home, style and family. Here are some of my April Favorites!

Less Overwhelm in May
Earlier this week on Instagram, I talked about the busyness of May! If you have kids in school, I am sure you can relate to this! Every single event seems to happen in May. The school concerts, award ceremonies, school picnics, field days, you name it happens this month! Not to mention, May includes Mother’s Day and Memorial Weekend!
So I am trying to stay organized and keep the overwhelm at bay! One of the first things to do to stay organized this month, is to write down every single event and task that has to be done! I did a brain dump of everything on my to-do list last weekend. It really helped me feel less anxious knowing what all I had to do. I just ordered this To-Do List notebook. I love good old fashioned paper and pen to write down my to-do list and calendar. I have a weekly day planner too but there is something about just writing a list down that is super effective. I love that this notebook has sections for priority tasks.
Once I wrote everything down in a list, I scheduled in the tasks into my calendar. So I have a plan for when everything will get done. I was sure to add in all of the planned events that are taking place too! My calendar is already full and it is not even May yet!
Follow along with me on Instagram this month as I share more tips on end of school year organization!
April Reading
I read one book this month and it was a good one! I recommend Wish you Were Here By Jodi Piccoult .It was the second book I’ve read this year that took place during the beginning of the pandemic. So I think I need a break from this time period!
But, it was a really good read and it had some good twists! I will not give anything anyway. I love Jodi Piccoult books and this book is one of her good ones!
Large Navy Patio Umbrella
The nice weather has us thinking about patio season! Last weekend we had a few nice days and I was ready to put out our new patio furniture. But, we have a lot of rain and cooler temperatures in the forecast, so we decided to wait a few weeks. Plus, we always pressure wash our patio and the siding. These pressure washer was a great purchase a few years ago. It is a lot cheaper to do it ourselves than to hire someone to do it every year.

One thing we need to get for our patio this year is a new large umbrella. We are changing our porch seating arrangement this year. Our new patio table will be doing under the covered part and our lounge seating will be uncovered. So, I am looking for a big umbrella to cover the patio seating. We ordered this square patio table set last year on sale, and it was not delivered until October of last year! So, we are very excited to unpack the boxes and set it up!
These two umbrellas are my favorites. The Navy Fringe Umbrella is really fun and on trend. But I worry that the fringe is not practical and that it will not hold up after one season.
So, I am leaning towards this navy scallop umbrella! It is also really cute and has great reviews.
Which patio umbrella of these two would you pick?
We do not need a lot of porch decor but I did see these gray lanterns on Amazon. I think these gray lanterns would look really nice on the new table.
Summer Shoe Style
This week, I switched out the winter clothes for spring and summer clothes. I might have been a little premature because after a few beautiful days earlier in the week we had freezing temperatures by mid-week. But, I am tired of winter clothing, so a change is good.
I have a small closet that needs to do a lot of work! I put away my fall and winter shoes and replaced them with my sandals and slides.
I love to get a new pair of sandals each season and I am drawn to these Lilac Birkenstocks. I prefer this style of Birkenstocks to the ones with one vertical strap. Light purple is a really trendy color right now and it has always been my favorite color! I put these Lilac Birkenstocks on my birthday list! The material is great for wearing to the pool and beach. But I will wear these all of the time!
Speaking of lavender, I recently ordered this pretty purple new Apple Watch band. I love the color!
Swapping out my watch band is a really easy and inexpensive way to add a new pop of color to my wardrobe.
Jewelry Making Kit
My daughter loves to make jewelry and I like to join her when I can. We ordered this seed bead set and this set of white seed beads to make some necklaces. These seed bead necklaces are on trend and you can spend a lot of money at the mall on them. So we decided to make them on our own.
These beads are small so it really takes a lot of concentration to thread them! But it has been a fun activity to do while watching TV or hanging out.
