What is clutter?
First, let’s understand what exactly clutter is in your home. Clutter can come in a lot of forms including paper, mementos and sentimental items, toys, clothing, tools, home and seasonal decor. There is also mental clutter, but specifically for this challenge, we are working on physical clutter.
Anything in your home can be clutter if there is too much of it or it is stuff that is unorganized. Every home has clutter, so there is nothing to be ashamed about when you are decluttering your home.
Too much clutter in the home can lead people to:
- Stress over having too much stuff
- Spending too much time cleaning and organizing the house because it always feels messy
- Guilt over having an unorganized home
- Not being able to relax in a disorganized home
- Spending more money than necessary because you buy things you don’t realize you already own.
- Missing meetings and appointments because you can’t keep track of paperwork and calendar.
What is the Clear the Clutter Challenge?

The Clear the Clutter Challenge is for people who want to take control of the clutter in their home and live a more clutter free life!
Each week, we will declutter a specific area of the home. During this challenge, we will give you 8-10 tasks per week to complete. You can work at your own pace and complete all the tasks in a day or spread them out during the week.
When you join the Declutter Challenge, you will receive a copy of the Ultimate Decluttering Guide. This booklet includes room by room checklists and detailed strategies on home organization.
If you prefer a more self paced declutter challenge, then you can buy the Ultimate Decluttering Guide and work at your own pace. Will I Really Be Able to Declutter My House in Eight Weeks?
This Challenge does take a lot of work. If you don’t think you will have time to work on it each week, find a time when it will be possible. Or work at your own pace.
Our Eight Week Decluttering Challenge is intended for you to complete your whole home in 8 weeks. But, we know life happens and everyone has a different situation. If you fall behind, pick up where you left off when you can.
There may never be a “right” time to get started but even a little bit of decluttering is better than none at all.
If you are serious about decluttering your home, then we encourage you to work at this pace! Schedule some time in your calendar each week and hold yourself accountable.
When you declutter your home, you can expect to feel a sense of relief. Your home will feel like a sanctuary and you will not feel like you are constantly cleaning!
