Are your kids interested in computer programming? Code Ninjas Avon offers kids the opportunity to learn how to code and create their own video games in a safe and fun learning environment! Learn all about Code Ninjas in today’s post.
What is Code Ninjas?
Recently, my family and I became familiar with the Code Ninjas franchise, specifically the Avon, Ohio location. Both of my boys love video games and actually all three of my kids enjoy computer programming. While my boys would play video games as much as they were allowed, we’d much prefer that they were doing something a little more educational. Code Ninjas is a win-win for parents and children as it combines computer programing and coding with video games. Besides coding, kids work on robotics, math and problem solving development.
Kids learn to code and build video games in a fun and educational environment. Code Ninjas offers a flexible program that allows you to decide when a “class” fits into your schedule. Students drop in for an hour or two and work at their own pace to level up in their skills. At a time when kids have FULL schedules, it is nice to have an extracurricular activity that offers a flexible structure.
Code Ninjas takes a martial arts style approach to their different levels and students earn “belts” for passing a new level. The belts are actually color coded bracelets that the kids use to check in for their class. In order to pass a level, kids must demonstrate mastery in a particular level through verbal and online assessments.
Parents can see tangible results through the online reporting system that allows parents to check on progress and see what their kids are working on.
How Much Does Code Ninjas cost?
The cost for Code Ninjas varies depending on what kind of time commitment your family wants to make to classes. You do not need to call ahead or schedule your session. Just be sure Code Ninjas is open the hours are you planning to visit.
There are 3 program options and the cost is per month:
Lite $129: One 1 hour visit per week.
Regular $199: Two 1 hour visits per week.
Fast Track $255: Five visits per week.
With all three options, you can pick when you visit. If you miss an hour one week, you can make it up another week. This program is perfect for busy families who need flexibility in their schedules!
Code Ninjas Avon
Code Ninjas in Avon opened in the summer of 2019 and has been growing steadily every since then! Currently, the programs are designed for kids ages 7-14, but a new program is in the works for the younger, 5-7 year old crowd! Code Ninjas Junior will be a more typical classroom setting with set class days and times. Code Ninja Jr. will be offered starting March, 2020.
In addition to weekly classes, Code Ninjas Avon offers winter, spring break and summer camps! This summer, there will be two camp offerings per day. You can sign up your kids for one session (morning or afternoon) or both! Some summer camps include Roblox, Mindcraft Create, Scratch Animation and Game Builders’ Club. Your video game loving child will be interested in all of these topics.
While your kids are coding, you can take a peak through the observation window, grab a cup of coffee at their complimentary drink station or run errands at the nearby shopping plaza (right near Costco and Target!).
Code Ninjas has over 450 locations throughout the country. If you are not in the Cleveland area, check HERE to see if there is a location near you.
