Coordinating Christmas Outfits

Today, I am linking up with Erika for Working it Wednesday: Staying Sane During the Holidays. Last week, I talked about how I get organized for the holidays. So today I’m chatting specifically about getting the kids ready for the holidays! I am a total sucker for coordinating Christmas outfits for my kids. Even though they are getting older, I still try to color coordinate them at the holidays. Eventually they might put up a fight, but for now, I will take the fun while I can. I used to be able to go to one department in a store and find all three outfits that matched. But now, the kids are in a different size departments and also have more opinions on what type of clothes they like to wear. So now, I try to get outfits that coordinate well but aren’t a complete match.
Christmas 2014
Typically I find my daughter’s outfit first because she has the strongest opinion and let’s face it, it’s fun to shop for girls clothes! This year we found her two completely different outfits and decided to keep both of them since she has a few opportunities to wear them.
Style #1: Holiday Red and Plaid
The first style is Bright Holiday Red! I was so happy my daughter agreed on this skirt from J Crew. It is so traditional and reminds me of her first holiday dress she wore as a baby. You can’t go wrong with classic holiday plaid! Besides J Crew, I really gravitate towards the Gap for holiday styles! They have great chunky sweaters for the boys and adorable dresses and skirts for the girls. I find it easy to coordinate their clothes between the different size departments. Both Gap and J Crew always have sales so you never have to pay full price!
I’m sharing coordinating Christmas outfit ideas from baby through big kids!
Holiday Plaid Shirt (Toddler & Boys)
The boys wore the cable knit one piece when they were each a baby. These sweaters hold up so well that you can definitely pass down to younger siblings. BONUS! We have several sizes of the mock neck sweaters as well. So timeless and classic.
Style #2: Navy and Ivory Theme
When my daughter and I found this navy velvet jumpsuit at Target we had to get it for her. It is so different yet adorable! I wish I could pull off this outfit! I like the idea of navy and ivory for coordinating Christmas outfits because they are festive enough yet can be worn when the holidays are over!
Which color theme do you prefer?

Perhaps it is just me, but I find it a fun challenge to find coordinating Christmas outfits for the kids! Do you like to coordinate your kids? What do they wear for the holidays?
I love coordinating/matching my girls- usually it is dresses and I have done red, gold, ivory, silver, you name it!
Such great tips, thank you. And cute family
Navy is my go to! Our last 3 or 4 outfits were planned around maroon and navy.
I always coordinate my boys for special occasions… Usually one wears a busier pattern, like a plaid, and the other stays simpler in complimentary colors.
I love the navy and ivory theme! I’m a bit obsessed with matching my two kids for the holidays… but I’m slowly learning that even a semi similarity in colors will work just as well
I love the navy and ivory – but with some red & green in the backdrop for photos! These little outfits are absolutely precious!
I love all these combinations! My personal favorite is red and plaid! I just recently had Christmas photos done, and red, black and plaid was our theme!
I love coordinating my kids…these are great options!
It’s fun to coordinate them while they will let us right?!
