Do you have a big Lego fan in the house? I’m sharing creative Lego Birthday Ideas for your biggest Lego fanatic! These Lego birthday ideas are simple and inexpensive. So whether you are throwing a party for 2 or 20, here are some Lego birthday party ideas to consider!
Lego Themed Birthday Party Ideas
My son just turned 11 yesterday and I think he had one of the best birthdays to date! Yes, we are still stuck at home right now and he could not celebrate face-to-face with friends and extended family. But, we made sure to make the birthday boy feel special! He LOVES Legos and since the quarantine began, he has had more time to work on Legos. What better way to celebrate our favorite Brickmaster then with a Lego themed birthday!
We were not able to go to the stores and pick out every little birthday party detail, we found Lego party favors on Amazon and a few last minute things at the Dollar Store. A few, fun Lego themed items can go a long way for a Lego themed birthday!
Our Lego party was just for our family of five, but we wanted to make the day very special. My daughter and I got everything set up the night before the birthday.
Lego Party Decorations and Favors
My favorite part of this Lego party planning was picking out some decorations and favors. These are a few Lego party ideas that I purchased:
Lego Party Decor
The kitchen island was all decked out with Lego party decor! The birthday boy loved this little surprise when he came down for breakfast in the morning.
Some Lego themed things we purchased:
- Lego platesĀ and napkins set (Order HERE)
- Brick Tablecloth (Available HERE)
- Lego Party Hats (Order HERE)
- Lego Brick Glasses (Buy HERE) Each pair of glasses comes with a bag of bricks to customize your glasses. We had fun at breakfast putting our glasses together!
- Lego Balloons (Dollar Tree)
- Brick Candy (Available HERE)
Lego Fan Gift Ideas
Looking for some fun Lego birthday themed gifts (besides a set of Legos)? My son asked for some specific Lego sets, but we also wanted to get him some Lego themed gifts that were not usual Lego sets. These are Lego gifts we considered or purchased:
Super soft, well-made shirt that comes in several colors! My son loved it!
Customizable Lego Birthday Cake
Fun birthday cake that you can use year after year!
Great gift if you have a Lego fan that collects minifigures!
My son has this book and loves it! Solid gift that your Lego fan will look through all the time.
Another big Lego book that looks really good!
We got this set and we used the molds to decorate the birthday cake and to make Lego ice cubes! Such a little detail that my son LOVED!
Lego Themed Cake DIY
We considered a few different ideas for a Lego themed cake. One idea was to make a cake size Lego brick like this one. Or we could have made a Mini Figure Head Cake. But, since we had the Lego silicone molds, we decided to make a regular round cake with Lego candy all over it. Easy and cute!
To keep it easy, we made cakes from a box mix and then just got creative with the decorating. I am all about keeping some things simple and then focusing on little details in other ways.
These Lego birthday candles are so fun and I wish I would have ordered them for the party!
Other than a Lego cake, the rest of the food was just some of my son’s favorite things! You could certainly get creative with Lego themed party food!
Lego Party Activities
Since we didn’t have aĀ big party, we were able to keep our activities to a minimum.
We watched the Lego movieĀ and my son spent the day building all of his new Lego sets.
You could have a Lego building competition. We recently did a competition and everyone built a creation that represented an activity they enjoyed doing. We didn’t give scores to each other, but it was fun building Legos together and talking about our creations.
Once you start looking for Lego birthday ideas, you can find so many options! The hardest part is narrowing down which Lego party items to purchase! Do you have any Lego fans in your family? It was a great Lego Birthday and I know it is one we will never forget!
