Deep Dish Lasagna Pizza
My husband and I lived in Chicago for almost seven years and one of the things we miss the most is the Deep Dish Pizza! You can not think about Chicago without thinking about Pizza! While, the pizza is still pretty good here in Ohio, there is something about deep dish pizza in Chicago that nothing else compares. Two of our kids were born in Chicago and we have taken them all back to visit several times. They are now just as obsessed with Deep Dish Pizza as we here!
Recently, On-Cor Frozen Foods asked me to share a fun recipe with their Lasagna with Meat Sauce. Let’s admit it, lasagna is delicious on its own. It is definitely a family favorite in our house! So, I decided to combine two foods we love, lasagna and pizza for a delicious twist on two classics!
This Deep Dish Lasagna Pizza recipe is so easy it can barely be considered a recipe. But, I’ll share how to put together this yummy meal so you can try it out at your next pizza night.

How to Make
The Deep Dish Pizza recipe only requires a few key ingredients:
- On-Cor Lasagna with Meat Sauce (found in the freezer section at your grocery)
- Homemade or Refrigerated Pizza Dough
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Step One:
Take the On-Cor Lasagna out of the packaging and set it on a baking sheet. Follow the instructions on the package for baking temperature and time. I suggest taking the lasagna out of the oven five minutes before the suggested time as it will be back in the oven again. While the lasagna is baking, you are off the hook! Talk about an easy dinner idea!
Step Two:
Once the lasagna is done baking, remove the pan from the oven and allow the it to cool for a few minutes. While it is cooling, get the rest of the ingredients ready.
Deep Dish Pizza is served in a round pie plate, so be sure to use a round baking dish. Spray the dish with some cooking oil. Then, line the bottom and sides of the dish with the pizza dough. One tube of refrigerated pizza dough is the perfect amount for a round baking dish. You can pull apart some of the dough in order to make sure all of the sides of the dish are covered with dough.
Step Three:
Gently cut the lasagna into four pieces. Scoop each of the pieces into the prepared pie dish. You should be able to get all of the lasagna into the baking dish!
Step Four:
Top the lasagna with shredded mozzarella cheese. The lasagna has a ton of real mozzarella cheese, but you can never have enough cheese when it comes to Deep Dish Pizza.
I found this thicker cut mozzarella cheese and I love how it looks and tastes!
Step Five:
Put the lasagna back into the oven (check the dough package for bake times). You will cook the lasagna for about 10 minutes or until the dough is cooked! Allow to cool slightly and then serve! Yum!
Oh my goodness, this pizza smelled AMAZED and tasted so GOOD!
