Easy 4th of July Centerpiece Idea
The Fourth of July is almost here and it is time to show your patriotic love. Today, I’ve got a very easy DIY 4th of July centerpiece that will instantly make your table look more festive for the 4th! The best part of this project is that you can find everything at the Dollar Store! Stick around to the end of the post for more 4th of July DIY craft inspiration!
Inexpensive 4th of July Decor
I’ve said this before, but 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It is one of those days that stirs up so many memories. Who can forgot the feeling of watching fireworks as a child? The 4th of July is really a day that represents everything about summer and America!
With the fun holiday just a few short days away, I recently gathered up our red, white and blue decor. Last week, I shared our patriotic patio decor! Today, I am sharing a very inexpensive 4th of July decor idea that you can make in minutes!
Perhaps, you do not have any red, white and blue decor pieces. Then, this project might be perfect for you! A little holiday decor can go a long way (especially when you are short on time and money!)
Red, White & Blue Table Decor
Have I told you how much I love the Dollar Store? It is one of those places that we end up stopping at a few times a week. There is always something we “NEED” at the Dollar Store. On one of our recent shopping trips, I came up with this easy red, white and blue centerpiece idea. It is so easy and simple that you can even assign your kids to this project.
What a fun way to add a little patriotic flair to your 4th of July party!
You will need just a few supplies to make this 4th of July centerpiece:
- 1-2 bags of sand in each color (red, white and blue). I bought three bags just in case but I barely used 2 bags. It depends on the size of your containers
- 3 glass containers (Mason jars would work too!)
- 3 Flameless candles (Safer and longer lasting than wick candles!)
I had a little six year old helper on this project. So, I had to hand over the reigns (and my expectations for perfection!) on this 4th of July project. My little guy decided on what order he wanted the sand and how much sand he wanted to use. Fortunately, the thing with sand art is that there is no right or wrong way to do it! Any color combination of sand you use will look so pretty!
In between each layer, be sure to pat down the sand (as my son wanted to do). Or, gently shake the container to make sure the sand is an even layer.
We wanted each container to have a different color order and the top layers to all be different. So, we made sure we started with a different color each time.
The best place to do this project is OUTDOORS! It makes clean up so easy!

After, you are done pouring in all of the sand, add a flameless candle on top!
