Happy Friday!! Most Fridays come quickly but for some reason this week dragged on. Maybe because I had a lot to get done in a short amount of time. Today is my little guy’s birthday (more on that in a minute),  so I will keep this post pretty short. He is having a little after school birthday date with a few of his buddies and I still have a few things to do to get ready! Anyway, as usual, I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea. for Friday Favorites! I’ll chat about our birthday boy, fall style finds and a few fun finds of the week!

Birthday Boy and Parties

My first favorite of the week is celebrating this guy’s SIXTH birthday! I know moms always say this, but I really don’t know where the time goes! I blinked and I don’t have any more babies in the house. I shared my thoughts on this “milestone” birthday over on Facebook yesterday. Moms of older kids might be able to relate!

Anyway, we are excited to celebrate big with him today. I am surprising him with his first visit to Build-a-Bear when he gets home from school. Because, six year olds still love stuffed animals. Then, later today, he is having a few friends over our house after school.

He is always telling a joke or a silly story!

It is funny, but as a mom who always has LOVED to throw kids birthday parties, we have gotten so simple with our parties the last few years! My older two kids had big sixth birthday parties. #thirdkidproblems But, now, in most cases, we keep parties simple and low key! I still have yet to pick up any favors or games….so I have some work to do today!!

Fall Style Finds

If you caught my post on Wednesday, you saw that my mom and I got a lot of fun finds on our recent mother daughter shopping trip.

I didn’t get a chance to share my Old Navy finds in the recap! Ever since I got a black moto jacket in my Trendsend box, I was hoping to find an inexpensive option.

The Evereve jacket shown below was super cute and trendy! But, as often as I’d wear the jacket, I didn’t want to spend so much!

I know it is not something I will wear every day but more a fun piece for a weekend outfit. So, I was so excited to find a very inexpensive moto jacket at Old Navy!

This jacket is super soft and comfortable! I don’t like jackets that are too structured and fitted. It comes in a TON of colors, and of course, there is always a sale at ON–never pay full price!

My other Old Navy find was this floral long-sleeve dress! I was looking for something to wear for our family pictures. AS luck would have it our family pictures had to get rescheduled until late October.

This dress ties in with our family pic color scheme (I think!). Plus, I’ll probably wear it on Thanksgiving. Old Navy for the win!

As the temperatures dropped this week, I reached for my warm outerwear including my scarves. I realized I had lost my FAVORITE cozy scarf, so I hopped on Amazon to find a replacement. I have already received this new one and it is SO COZY! You can not beat the price on this super soft and plush scarf.

I already know my kids are going to be trying to nab this scarf…hmmm maybe that’s where my old one went?! I think I might need to order another one as backup!

Niagara Falls Trip

I almost forgot to mention, one of our highlights of the week was our family trip to Niagara Falls! I will recap the whole trip next week including where we stayed, where we ate and what we did during our visit!

It was a perfect little weekend getaway as it was only 3.5 hours away. We visited both the American side and the Canadian side of the falls. While it was a little cool and windy during some parts of our trip, the weather did hinder any of our activities!

The kids were troopers — we did a lot of walking! It was a very memorable trip!

It has been a busy week and we’ve got an even more busy weekend! But I am always happy for the weekend and some time with our little family. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Yesterday was the first day I could wear fall clothes! The temperature was so nice. Niagara Falls is such a beautiful place to visit. I was there almost twenty years ago, and I still have vivid memories! Hope your birthday boy has a great time!

Oh do I ever get it about the kids. Too fast. Happy birthday to your sensational 6 year old. My boys played with Legos into their teens and I’ve saved them all. LOVE your moto. Can’t wait to hear about your Niagara Falls Trip. Happy Weekend!

Friday Favorites posts are the best! I love your family picture color combo. We just had ours last weekend and we did a navy/gray color scheme. That dress is beautiful – I wish I had seen this before ours! 😉

Love the outfits! Have fun with that six-year-old! Those were some of the most fun I had with my son – from age 4 through 8. Just precious. It will be gone like a vapor! Sweet post!
