Homemade Father’s Day Candy Tackle Box
Father’s Day is just around the corner and my kids are already talking about what they can make for dad this year! Last year, we put together this DIY Car Wash gift set for my husband and it was a hit. So, we were trying to come up with another fun and creative homemade Father’s Day gift.
My husband loves to fish, so we were trying to think of something creative that would incorporate this hobby. We came up with this Candy Fishing Tackle Box idea that incorporates fishing but also good for dad that has a sweet tooth!
If you have a dad, grandpa or another special guy in your life that loves fishing, then this Candy Fishing Tackle Box idea might be the perfect gift.
What do you need to make a Candy Tackle Box?
What make this Father’s Day candy tackle box so unique is that you can customize the gift in so many ways! The fun part of this gift is picking out the candy and even salty snacks! You will want to find as much “fish related” snacks as you can. So, look out for fish and worm shaped candy and goldfish crackers. You only need a little bit of each snack to fill up each compartment.
Tackle Box (Either a small one or a functional, large box –that is a gift in itself!)
Fish Related Candy (Swedish Fish, Candy Worms, Licorice Ropes)
Goldfish Crackers (For a Sweet and Salty Tackle Box treat!)
Ribbon ( I always use this twine)or Washi Tape

How to Assemble a Father’s Day Candy Tackle Box
Once you have all the snacks, it is time to assemble the tackle box. The nice thing is that each compartment is really small, so you only need a handful of each snack. If you buy enough snacks, it is easy to put together several tackle boxes at one time.
You will have no problem getting the kids to help you assemble this candy tackle box! Everyone wants the leftover candy:)
I suggest washing the tackle box with soap and water (then let it dry) before you start assembling it. We got a container with removable dividers, so you can adjust the compartments to the size of the candy. You can even use plastic containers that are sold at craft stores like this one at Michael’s.
You can add the candy and snacks however you want. Maybe you want to go with a color theme and stick to all red items. Or maybe you want an all fish looking food theme! You and your kids will have fun filling up the candy tackle box!
We were so excited to find these Octopus sours.
