It is hard to believe that the 4th of July is next week! It feels like summer has just gotten started, yet here we are getting ready for the most festive day of the summer! The 4th of July is one of my family’s favorite summer traditions. We love getting all dressed up in Red, White and Blue attire and attending a parade, family party and of course seeing fireworks!
Red, White & Blue Outdoor Decor
This past weekend, I was finally able to get our outdoor covered patio ready for summer. We’ve had so much rain, that we haven’t gotten a chance to use our patio much yet this season. Now, if the rain continues to hold off, we can actually start living in our space. Since we usually spend our 4th of July outdoors, I focused on the covered patio for most of our 4th of July decor.
Ever since we got our covered patio, we have had a navy and red theme for our furniture and decor. These colors are perfect for summer, especially when the 4th of July rolls around. Since it is one of our favorite holidays, I have collected a ton of red, white and blue themed decor. Instead of buying new 4th of July decor pieces each year, I’ve been able to use what we have and just move it around to new spots. It is fun to spruce up the patio for the 4th of July especially if you are entertaining around the holiday!
I kept adding to the patio decor over the course of a few days…so you might notice a few additions along the way. This flag banner was a new addition to the windows. Last year, I used the same banner for our fireplace mantle.
I used a few pieces of two sided tape on the back of the banner, so hopefully the wind won’t blow it down.
I’ve talked before about this cute soda crate (from World Market several years ago). I normally keep the crate on our bar cart and then just bring it out when we are entertaining. We make sure to always have a supply of sparklers on hand! You can grab these at Target or the Dollar Store. All the of the buckets and bins, I have collected over the years from the Target Dollar spot.
The hamburger/hotdog containers come in handy for summer BBQs. You can pick them up at the Dollar Store or over HERE. If you don’t have a fun crate, use a tray or basket to corral all of the summer entertaining supplies!
Yesterday, I added the blue mason jar and a set of flags (Dollar store find) to the display.
It would sure look cute to serve old fashioned drinks in this soda crate as well! I just might have to try that idea for the 4th of July! Maybe a mix of red and blue sodas!
Summer Outdoor Entertaining Must-Have
Last year, I got this red rolling cooler for my husband for Father’s Day.
It is AWESOME! Hands down one of the best purchases we made for our patio!
Perfect when you are entertaining a crowd or even just your own family. We fill the cooler with kid friendly and adult friendly beverage options! It is nice to have drinks handy on the patio so we don’t have to run back inside!
And the red color makes it super festive for all of the summer holidays! I use the shelf underneath to store our 4th of July gear! You always need a little flair including tattoos, buttons and beads on the 4th of July!
Simple 4th of July Decor
I had a Star Bucket (sold out but another option HERE and HERE) that I used to hold a plant. I just set the plant in the bucket, so once the holiday is over, I can easily remove it.
This Flag porch sign is a favorite. I get so many questions on it and I made it at a Board and the Brush class!
That about wraps up our July 4th decorations! Just a few little patriotic touches here and there to get us in the Fourth of July spirit!
