Happy Friday friends! I am looking forward to weekend life! This week was one of those that I did not seem to have my act entirely together. You ever have those?! Between keeping track of which kids needed to be where and a few of my own commitments, I felt a little bit out of it. Thankfully it is Friday! As usual, I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea. Today, I’m wrapping up my week with some of my favorites including a crafty new store, some porch updates and a fun giveaway!
A.C. Moore Grand Opening
It seems that we have had a lot of fun store grand openings in Cleveland lately! A few weeks ago, I shared my visit to our new Kirklands store and this week I stopped into a new A.C. Moore! A.C. Moore is an arts and crafts store (similar to Michael’s) but also has some home decor. They had a lot of items on sale and I don’t know if it was because of the opening or that is typical. But I did find that the prices are very reasonable.
It most certainly looked like fall inside the store! You can’t beat $1 faux pumpkins!
I checked out all of their home decor. I love these galvanized chargers! These would be great for a table setting for any holiday especially Thanksgiving.
Their selection of letters was extensive! It would be fun to mix and match different types of letters for a wall…similar to what we did in the kids’ art room.
A.C. Moore also had a good selection of farmhouse/rustic wall decor. Some of the pieces allow for you to DIY or customize if you are crafty.
Although, I usually purchase finished pieces ….I am just not that skilled at that kind of stuff!
Magic Light Trick
Last week, I talked about my new favorite lights I installed in our built in bookshelf. By installed, I mean adhered the lights with the two sided tape (that was included in the kit) 🙂
I had to order more lights to complete the project and I just wanted to show you the final result! My family really loves this update! The lights add some ambiance to the space. This spot used to be very dark especially when we weren’t using our overhead lights.
It is nice the lights are adhered with strong tape (tiny screws are also included as another option). These bookshelves are original to our 1950’s home, so I wouldn’t want to ever deal with any electrical wiring for lighting.
My mom ended up ordering the lights for her kitchen and she loves them too!
Here is her “before” kitchen.
And now their “after” with the purchase of 2 packs of lights!
What do you think? Nesting with Grace calls this the magic light trick and I couldn’t agree more! Some of you have asked what the battery life is like on the lights and I honestly do not know! I figure we will need to replace the batteries soon since we are using the ones that came with the lights (and I imagine they aren’t of great quality). I’ll keep you posted on how these lights hold up! But, we are happy with this inexpensive update!
Front Porch Fall Decor
In case you missed my post earlier in the week, I talked about ideas for decorating your front porch for the fall season!
I’ve added a few things to my porch since my post, but I will share my final updates with you soon!

I am so excited to share a fun giveaway for you!! Recently, I had the opportunity to try some new sunless tanner products from Versa Spa and I am loving them so far! AC Moore looks just like Michaels from the pictures! I think the new lighting is gorgeous!! I’m going to check this out because my kitchen could use this as well! Hope you have a great weekend! Awesome giveaway!! I have done sunless tanning before and it’s wonderful!!
Oh I wished I lived local to you to see you on t.v, so I could say “I knew you when!” 🙂 Love those lights- they add such a nice coziness to the room- have a great weekend Jaclyn!
AC Moore reminds me of our local Hobby Lobby. Would be nice to have a second craft store to be able to go and shop around in. Love the look of your new lighting.
I love those lights! What a great ambiance. I have never heard of AC Moor before, but I would love to go look around. I love those chargers and the pumpkins. So much cute stuff.
We don’t have anything like this in the U.K. enjoy your shopping trip. I’m not envious at all ?
Thanks for the link for the lights. Ordered some for a similar area in our home! I have tried numerous sunless tanning products including at home and salon. Most either smell or leave me sticky or streaky…
You made my house hunting so much more urgent with these ideas!!! I feel like I am going to miss out on fall decorating if I don’t find one soon! If I can’t use these ideas this year I will still definitely stock up and use them for next year! I hate the idea of packing and moving all fall and missing out on the great decorating!!
A.C. Moore looks great! And I love the lights in your bookshelf – it really does make it look nicer and now it’s not so dark.

I know right, TGIF! I ♥️ The light thingamajigs! What a difference they make!?.
I have tried sunless tanning a few years ago and although it looked lovely I STANK like a stale French fry so I never gave it another shot?. Recently I’ve heard wonderful things about this brand…Maybe I should give it a second chance?! ?
Have a wonderful weekend?
I have been to AC Moore before but really wish we had one closer! They have such good prices and selections. I love all the accent lighting. My husband and I had planned to put in lights under/in our kitchen cabinets and even ran the wiring for it but have yet to get around to actually doing it… even though we’ve lived here 14+ years! I may have to ask him to get on that.
I used to shop at AC Moore in NJ. I’d love it if it opened here!
I’d love to enter your giveaway! I have not tried sunless tanner before.
I’ve never tried a sunless tanning lotion. I’d like to though! Following on FB and IG (@danadenay1967).
I haven’t used sunless tanner in YEARS but would love to try it. I hate how pasty I get in the winter.
Sorry I had to miss the AC Moore event – that store looks great and would have loved to hang out! I need that little tin cow in my life lol
Following you on Facebook as Sharon Rooney and on Instagram as jerseygirl6312.
Yes, I have had a spray tan in the past.
I use Jergens at home sometimes. Haven’t tried anything else!
I’m following you on Instagram. I’ve never tried any sunless tanning products.
I followed on FB as Kelly McGrew – I have not tried sunless tanning products!
I have never tried sunless tanning
I love AC Moore!! I go there for so many things, not just craft items. And I’m always able to find some great Christmas presents there. As for the sunless tanning I tried it once at a Fitness center. It was the ultraviolet lights and they didn’t do much for me. Maybe I wasn’t in long enough. But I’d love to try these products and see if I have better results.
I have tried both at home and at a spa!
I’ve tried sunless tanning, I honestly prefer it to tanning with the sun just because the damage the sun does. Some of the tanners I’ve tried made my skin more of an orange color though so I’m looking for a product that looks more real.
I have tried it at home and I turned out super orangey….lol. I followed you on facebook
I have never tried sunless tanning, never been brave enough.
I have tried both sunless tanning at home and at a spa I don’t tan in the sun I burn 🙂
I try to use sunless tanning products before we go on a cruise or beach trip.
I’ve never tried anything like this, but I’m intrigued!
No, I have never tried this but I would love to
I love A.C. Morre. I wish we had one near us. I love the decorations, the lighting and all. And although I have never tried the sunless taning product I would love to. Thank you 🙂 🙂 🙂
New subscriber here, and I am already in looooove with your blog! (Found you from the Friday Favorites linkup at Momfessionals). I love yourcabinet/bookshelf lights – I’m totally going to order some for my own house…..maybe both the kitchen and our living room shelving!
Thanks Jen and welcome!! So glad you stopped by and said hello. We’ve had the lights for almost a month now and we still love them!!
