Happy Friday! Happy Passover and Happy Easter to everyone! Despite being stuck at home for the last month, time has still seemed to be moving forward pretty quickly! Our spring break starts today and we are certainly bummed about not going on our planned vacation. We are trying to make the best of it and we have some fun things planned at home next week. Today, I am sharing some favorites in home, style and family. It is nice to end the week on a light note!

Easter Treats
My family and I might need a bit of a baking intervention. Almost every single day someone (namely my daughter or me) is baking something in the kitchen. Well, technically a few things we made this week did not require baking.
First, the kids and I made this Birds Nests with Chow Mein Noodles. This is a very easy no-bake recipes that the kids will enjoy helping you make.
Then, as a snack, I made these Peep Kabobs. Both of these treats would be so cute and easy to put together on Easter. We plan to have an Easter brunch with cinnamon rolls and egg casserole in the morning. Then, ham and cheese sliders and cheesy potatoes for a mid afternoon dinner. What is on your Easter menu?
Besides Easter treats, we have also been making bread in the bread maker almost every single day.
On Monday, I shared our top 5 Breadmachine Recipes. These are recipes for every occasion including pizza dough, cinnamon rolls, white bread and french bread!
New Bedroom Curtains
We have been tackling a few projects around the house this last month. These are things that have been on my to-do list for years. Last week, I ordered new curtains for our Master Bedroom. This week, the curtains arrived so my husband hung them for me. I had debated on curtains for a long time (10 years to be exact), because our bedroom windows have built in (vintage) shutters. So we didn’t really need curtains to block out light or for privacy. I wanted the curtains to make the room have a pulled together look. We are so happy with how the curtains turned out.
Even my husband said the curtains really completed the room. These curtain rods are highly rated (and very inexpensive) I’ve seen them mentioned on other blogs before. I am going to order them for our daughter’s room now.
Mani Sundays
I can not remember if I have mentioned this before on here, but over the last month, my daughter and I started a Sunday manicure tradition. It gives us something to look forward to and we also get a little dedicated time together.
We have been having fun trying out different colors and styles (one week I painted different colors for each nail). Since we figure, no one but us will see our nails.
Last Sunday, we realized we did not have any spring colors. The pinks pictured above were dried out. So we ordered a few from Amazon. Only one of the four colors we ordered has arrived. Since this Sunday is Easter, we will probably do a manicure Saturday, so we can have pretty nails for Easter:)
Here are all the colors we ordered. So cheerful!!
Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt
A few days ago, I sent the boys on a neighborhood scavenger hunt. Sometimes they need a little push on what to do outside, even outdoor time has gotten a little boring! I got the idea from our Hope + Joy Facebook Group and when someone suggested it, I immediately downloaded the scavenger hunt. There are a few different version depending on how hard you want to make the hunt. Very fun activity to do with the kids or if they are older, they can do it on their own.
Bonus: I received a sweet flower when the boys came back from their hunt:)
You can still join the Hope + Joy Community! It is a positive place for moms to share ideas during this quarantine!
Fun Peeps Experiment
I’ll leave you with a fun experiment to do with the kids this weekend. If you have some leftover Peeps, try this science project. Place one peep in a clear container each. Fill one container with water, one with vinegar and one with lemon juice or another liquid (like soda) you have on hand. Watch what happens to the Peeps throughout a full day! We tried this out yesterday and it was a lot of fun!
That wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites! Hope you have a great holiday weekend!
Your room looks gorgeous! Love the whole color scheme too! Also, I can smell that bread through your picture! Have an amazing weekend!
Thank you so much Lisa! It was nice to give the room a little upgrade.
Your birds nest cookies look delish and I love the new curtains- have a wonderful Easter Jaclyn! XO
I think we are going to do face masks and manicures here too!
