Another Friday has rolled around. Weeks are going by pretty quickly but the days can sometimes drag on. I’m happy to be one day closer to summer and warm weather. Hope you are having a good week! Today, as usual I am sharing some Friday Favorites in home, style and family.

One // Basement Playroom Update
Last weekend, my husband officially finished a very large home project. He has spent the last 8 months renovating our basement. The final project on his list was to build and paint shelving around the fireplace. He is relieved to have the project done and we are so happy to have the space.
No sooner had the paint dried that I got to decorate the shelves. I’ll need to dig up some “before” pictures of the space but it is a huge improvement! We took out old paneling and carpet and we now have an entirely brand new space.
I’m working on a blog post to share the entire space with you and to highlight some of our favorite new features. Little did we know that we would be spending so much time in our basement hangout because of our current country’s stay at home orders.
We are so grateful to have this bonus space for the family to hang out. I’ll be glad to have this space for the kids to be able to hang out with their friends once they are allowed to all be together.
Two // Spring Porch
I can not wait to be able to go to the store new flowers for our porch and patios. Usually, we buy all of our flowers around Mother’s Day so I hope there is a way to do that this year! In the meantime, I finally swapped out our Christmas doormat with this new cheerful Cherry Rug! Last year, our front porch was themed around lemons and this year it is cherries:) I plan to add some red and white flowers and just a few little details to round out the space.

Three // Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
Earlier this week, I rounded up some Mother’s Day gift ideas you can buy online! With everything going on right now, you might not be thinking about Mother’s Day. But it’ll be here soon. One idea I shared with you I ended up purchasing for my daughter and me. We have been having fun with our weekly manicures. So, I thought this face steamer would be a way to add to our afternoon of pampering. Now, we can do mini facials.
Last Sunday, my daughter said she hopes we can continue this tradition even after quarantine. Love that we are able to find some new traditions in the midst of all this!
Four // Recipe Recommendations
We have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen these days whether it is cooking or baking. I thought I’d share some of our new favorites.
- We made these Chocolate Lava Cakes. These were absolutely delicious and so easy to make! I recently ordered these ramekins because I knew I wanted to make this recipe. I think the dishes will come in handy for a lot of recipes including mini quiches, or individual size desserts.
- These easy homemade chicken tenders were a big hit this week! We especially loved the homemade dipping sauce.
- Try our new homemade lemonade recipe with only 3 ingredients!
- We made these Popsicles with berries instead of peaches. YUM! These Popsicle molds are perfect for this recipe!
What have you been cooking these days?
That wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites! I hope you have a great weekend. I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for this Friday Favorites post, so be sure to head over to their blogs as well!

Love the way your basement room came out- the shelving is everything! Have a great weekend Jaclyn 🙂
Your basement looks amazing and those recipes sound great! Have a sweet weekend. xo
The basement looks great! We have built in shelves in our living room but they are brown and I wish they were white!
We had some very old, brown shelves before this too. But we had to completely knock them done and build new ones.
That basement is amazing! We’ve been working on ours for a good 8+ years now but we keep changing up our ideas of what we want to do… mostly because the boys have grown so much from when we started that our needs are completely different now.
Oh I hear you! It is hard to know what the kids needs will be for a play space as they grow.
Do you normally go to the Pettiti’s Mother’s Day sale by chance?!
No, but I have heard about it! What do you think they will do this year?
