Hi Friends! Happy Friday to you! I know I have many Texas readers, so I sure hope you are doing okay over there! I feel for all of you without power and heat! We had a snow day here this week and it was nice for the kids to get a chance to play in the snow and have a day off. But, I was appreciating that we had heat in the home once we got too cold outside.

Anyway, I am sharing a few light and fun things for today’s Friday Favorites. As always, I share favorites in home, style and family.

Straight Leg Jeans
It seems there is a big fuss on the Internet these days about moms wearing skinny leg jeans. Sorry, but for this mom, skinny leg jeans are part of my wardrobe. I really do not care what the younger crowd is saying about what we moms should be wearing. Ha!
However, I certainly have a lot of skinny jeans in my closet. I have been wanting to find a lighter pair of jeans, so I decided I would venture out to find a non skinny pair of light wash jeans.
I found this pair of super high rise straight leg jeans at Target and for the price, I was willing to venture out of my comfort zone. My fourteen year old daughter ordered a pair too but she is waiting for hers to arrive. I think they will look cute on her!
The jury is still out on these jeans. I saw them on another blogger and the jeans looked adorable on her. But she said she is shorter than I am. So I am thinking these jeans would look cute on shorter girls (I am 5 ‘ 9). What I also didn’t realize was that I had ordered Wild Fable, which is a juniors brand.
Normally, I like Target’s Universal Threads jeans. I did a little digging on Target and I found this pair of straight leg jeans that is less distressed and appears a little longer. I am going to order these and see how they work out.
Have you tried the straight leg jean look?
Vision Board Making with Kids
Did you catch my post earlier this week on making Vision Boards with your kids? A few weeks back I had the chance to lead two workshops at my local Athleta store on Vision Boards. It was a workshop for girls and tweens and I left feeling so inspired by these young ladies.
This post contains all the details on why Vision Boards can be really meaningful for kids. Plus, I walk you through all the steps to creating your own Vision board.
Tastefully Simple Giveaway
I am always looking for little shortcuts to make dinner prep a little easier. So, when I got a chance to try some spices and sauces from Tastefully Simple. I was very excited. The particular kit I got including Taco Seasoning, Chicken Seasoning, a bourbon glaze, a bread mix and more!
The other night I used this Mamma Mia Spice Mix to make delicious Pasta Sauce. Per the instructions on the bottle, I just mixed some of the spices into one large can of crushed tomatoes. I like this pasta sauce recipe because sometimes I run out of marinara sauce but I almost always have crushed tomatoes (I buy in bulk at Costco).
There are so many fun mixes in the Tastefully Simple Around the World Kit. I am even more excited because I am giving away one Tastefuly Around the World Kit ($109 value) to a lucky winner! Head over to this Instagram Post for a chance to win the Tastefully Simple pack of goodies! If you are interested in purchasing any products, you can use code: CPD10 for 10% off your order until March 31st.
