Friday Favorites: Summer Dress, Latest Books and Lake Signs
Happy Weekend friends! It has been a busy week and the weekend will be just as non stop. But, I am sure thankful for this busy season in life again. May is always a little extra hectic with all of the end of the year activities. Anyway, I hope you have had a good week! As usual, I am sharing some Friday favorites in home, style and family.

The Best Summer Dress
Last Friday, I picked up a few new dresses from Target. This $12 t-shirt dress is the perfect summer dress! I always like to have a few of these dresses in my closet. These dresses are good for the pool, running around town and every can be dressed up.
I grabbed three colors of this dress because the deal is so good!
The navy striped dress is my favorite of the three. I will probably wear this dress on the 4th of July.
It is the perfect weight, so it can keep you cool on even very hot days.
Latest Book and Summer Reading Challenge
This week, I read two books. I finished reading The Guest List on my kindle. Then, I also read my latest Book of the Month club selection The Last Thing He Told Me. Both both were really good and I plan to read other books by the same authors.
On Monday, I shared a summer reading challenge for moms! This is something to do on your own or with a friend. If you are looking to read a little more this summer, this challenge might be something to help you get motivated.
Living in Yellow Lake Signs
Have you seen in the Living in Yellow and Joyfully Said Signs new lake sign collaboration? There are so many pretty signs in shades of blue that were inspired by the lake.
You can use this Joyfully Signs referral code for you to save $10 on a Joyfully Sign order. There are a lot of signs in the shop including many not part of the Living in Yellow Collection. I ordered this set of signs and also a small version of this sign. This year, I have added more blues into our family room, so I think these signs will be perfect.
Last Day of School Traditions
When do your kids get out of school? I did a survey on Instagram and it was about 50/50 for May and June. My kids do not get out until June. My second grader’s class has the cutest activity going on right now. They are going through the alphabet for the last 26 days and each day the letter of the day corresponds to an activity.
It is so fun. Today is C for Career Day and they had a bubble activity for B day. I also like this alphabet activity because it helps me remember how many days are left of school. It will be really exciting when they get to the end of the alphabet!
Anyway, earlier this week, I shared some fun Last Day of School Tradition ideas. These are fun things you can do at home with the kids to celebrate the end of school and to kick off summer break!
This year, my daughter graduates from 8th grade and I can barely handle it that she is going to high school next year. The school days are long but the school years go by so quickly.
Friday Wrap Up
That is about it for this week’s Friday Favorites. I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!
Love that Target dress, Jaclyn! Also, thinking of you – why does time fly by so quickly!
thank you lisa! It goes by too quickly!
I got The Last Thing He Told Me this month too but it hasn’t arrived yet and you already read it?! Quick! My son is graduating 8th grade too and I somehow missed your last day of school traditions post so I’ll go look now. We get out on May 27.
That countdown for the end of school (going through the alphabet) is SUCH a cute idea. I love that. And I really loved The Guest List; glad you did too.
