Friday Favorites: Birthday Girl, New Shoes & Valentine’s Day Plans
Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week so far. We’ve got a busy weekend planned and I can’t wait for it to begin. Anyway, as usual I am recapping the week with my Friday Favorites! Sharing a little bit of mom life and my latest favorite finds and products!
Birthday Girl
I can hardly believe it, but this girl, my first born, is twelve years old today! A few weeks ago at school, her school had a celebration for her grade because they are half way done with their school years! What?! Only 6 1/2 years until she graduates from high school. But, I better not get ahead of myself. For now, we will focus on celebrating her fun day!
This week, I shared a few fun posts that related to my daughter. On Tuesday, we shared her bedroom updates. We have been trying to finish up her room for a long time! We got the motivation to finish up after she spent the last few weeks decluttering and organizing her room. She loves her new space and I am happy for her to have a space she can relax and enjoy! You can read the full post over HERE!
Also this week, I shared the my daughter’s latest Stitch Fix Kids Box! Did you know Stitch Fix offered subscriptions for kids?! We were so happy with her latest fix! So many fun options to choose from! Read about her Stitch Fix unboxing HERE.
Pediped Shoes
Speaking of kid style, my six year old was treated to a few new pairs of Pediped shoes! Some of my kids’ first pairs of shoes were Pedipeds. I always choose quality over quantity when it comes to shoes for the kids. If I am being honest, my boys usually just have 2-3 pairs in rotations (boots, gym shoes and dress shoes). They outgrow their shoes so quickly!
Pediped shoes are high quality shoes that are made to support kids’ feet development. What I didn’t realize is that Pediped offers shoes up to size Big Kid 6!
The weather was nice this week, so we got outside and my little guy gave these Pediped boots a try! He loves that they are comfortable! I like that they can easily cleaned by just wiping them down.
We played outside and it was VERY muddy but I was able to clean the dirt off his shoes right away.
Many of their shoes are machine washable–huge bonus!!
Easy Valentine’s Day Ideas for Family
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? Do you celebrate with your kids or just your spouse? My husband will actually be out of town for the day, so maybe we will get some time for a date night the following weekend. I’m also planning a little celebration with the kids this weekend. The emphasis is on simple and easy! We will just make our usual weekend movie night a little more Valentine’s Day specific. Which, based on our plans for the weekend, it will be Sunday movie night!
Last weekend, I made a big cheese board for our Super Bowl watching. I had so much fun making that charcucterie board, that I decided to make up another one for Valentine’s Day.
However, this Valentine’s Day cheese board will have a little more emphasis on sweets! I’ll share with you next week.
In the meantime, if you are looking for a very easy Valentine’s Day treat, consider these White Chocolate Dipped Oreos! I wanted to make up something quick for my daughter to bring to school for her birthday. I had everything on hand to make these Oreo treats! P.S. I used the Sweet Tart Valentine Oreos that are available right now and they are SO GOOD! Just a little bit of tartness that mixes so well with the white chocolate!
My favorite little gadget to melt chocolate is this product! The Dash Candy Maker makes it so quick and easy to melt chocolate. I like that it is kid friendly as the device does not get too hot to the touch. The kids like using it when their friends are over too. Although, we haven’t tried it yet, you can make gummy bears and other non chocolate candy in this maker!
We use this candy maker just about every week! The kit comes with molds, so you can pour the melted candy right into them. If we are need of a little candy treat, it is the perfect way to get our fix!
It would make a fun Valentine’s Day gift for the family!
