Cheers to Friday! This week flew by, partly due to being out of town until Monday and also because it was only a four day school week! I’ll take it! As per the usual Friday routine, I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites. I’ll share a peek into our last few days and some of my favorite new spring finds of the week.

California Dreaming
We’ve only been back for a few days and we are already dreaming of our next visit to California. It was a PERFECT trip-beautiful weather, fun city and most importantly, great times with family. My brother and sister in law were great tour guides (even with a young baby in tow). So we saw everything we had on our list.
It was a windy but beautiful visit to the Golden Gate Bridge!
My daughter’s favorite spot was Chinatown. We just missed the Chinese New Year celebration by a week, but the city was starting to get decked out for the holiday.
She was so intrigued by the street performers! So, she jumped at the chance when a man offered his instrument for her to try!
We ventured out of the city and took a hike in a Redwoods Park. Beautiful!
P.S. Remember how I mentioned I was going to read this book last week?! Well, I left the book at home and ended up having to purchase a new book on our trip.
I ended up buying The Wonder while on the trip and I read it on my flight home.
It was a little slow reading at the beginning but it was very suspenseful and not predictable! The book was set in the 1800s in Ireland, so I enjoyed the details about the time and setting.
Spring Finds
I came home from California to warmer weather and it got me dreaming of spring! So I took down all of our Valentine’s Day decor and our house is back to a clean slate.
I’m excited to add in some green and little details in the next few weeks. I will try to hold out on full blown Easter decor for another few weeks! But I have been added little things here and there.
Wall Sign | Diamond Pillow Cover | (Similar) Pom Garland
I swapped out all of my Valentine’s pillows for these year round ones and changed the garland from red to green!
It had been a few weeks since I had to been to Marshalls, so I made a quick visit there the other day. Of course everything in the store looks good when you haven’t been in a while!
I picked up a couple of new favorite spring finds!
Towels are an easy and functional way to update the kitchen for the season! These were $5.99 for a set of two. I really don’t have any yellow in our house, especially our kitchen, so I thought the yellow bin ($2.99) would be a fun pop!
The Happy Easter container is actually a Rae Dunn find. Lately, I have been trying to be selective in the Rae Dunn I buy. I am just running out of room to store more pieces. So I try to pick up items that are different from what I already own.
Meal Planning
This week I am getting back into our meal schedule and I thought that sharing with you might hold me accountable to stick to the plan! I always enjoy reading what’s on the weekly menu for other families! It’s fun to find new ideas. This week I am trying out two new recipes–Paleo Pizza Skins and Curry Meatballs. I don’t know if the kids will be willing to try these new items but I always include other side dishes that I know they will eat.
Friday: Paleo Pizza Potato Skins
Saturday: Out
Sunday: Curry Meatballs (Thanks for the suggestion Brittany @ Dreams + Coffee) and Veggies
Monday: Leftovers
Tuesday: Taco Bowls with Califlower Rice (brown rice for the kids)
Wednesday: Salmon, Roasted Potatoes and Veggies
Thursday: Pesto Pasta (Zoodles), Garlic Bread and Salad
Each Friday, I’m planning on sharing my favorite recipes from the past week and what’s on the plan for the upcoming week. I’d love to hear some of your favorite family friendly recipes!
