Friday Favorites: Creative Gift Idea, Summer Style and Bookshelf Styling
Happy Friday friends! The last day of the school week is always welcomed over here. We have 21 days left until the last day of school and we are most definitely counting! I’ve got some fun ways to celebrate the last day of school this year even though things are very different. But before that, I wanted to share some Friday Favorites in home, style and family.

One // DIY Father’s Day Gift Idea
Last week, I came across a fun DIY project from a local store here. My local Board & Brush has these take home kits to make your own wood signs! The kit is only $30 with paint (or you can use your own paint at the cost is $25). You get a wood board, stencil, brushes and detailed instructions to create your sign.
There are a ton of design options to choose from and my daughter and I decided to make a sign for Father’s Day.
If you have a local Board & Brush, I definitely recommend checking to see if your location offers these take home kits. It is such a deal and you have a fun art project to work on for a few hours!
Stay tuned to next Wednesday because I will be sharing another DIY Father’s Day gift ideas that the kids can put together!
Two // Versatile Jumpsuit
I grabbed on a great deal on this Athleta Jumpsuit. It is on sale now but a few weeks ago it was an additional 20% off. It is still a great deal on a versatile jumpsuit I will wear all summer long.
The Unbound Jumpsuit is made from recycled polyester/spandex and it feels absolutely amazing. The material is so forgiving and comfortable. It is really lightweight so you could wear even on hot summer days.
I dressed up this jumpsuit for an at home anniversary date with this kimono.
But I would definitely wear this jumpsuit for a day of running around with the kids.
The pants have cargo pockets! So glad I scored this because it is a outfit I will for sure get my money’s worth.
Three // Basic Tanks for Summer
Another great deal I found last week was on these linen tanks from JCrew. At the time these were around $20 and now they are full price. But you can sign up for their e-mails and get 15% off.
I struggle with finding tanks I like and these are my new favorites. The linen material makes the top lay well. The best part is that even though these tops are linen they are machine washable.
I got three tanks, one in white, pink and gray.
These tanks are great on their own or under a jacket or cardigan. I have been wearing the white tank on repeat since I got it.
Four // Bookshelf Update
You might have caught my Instagram stories this week when I shared that a new indoor plant spurred a bookshelf rearrangement. Isn’t that always the case when you buy one new home decor item it usually leads to several changes throughout the house?
I stopped at our local nursery and I found a plant that requires minimal lighting. We do not get a ton of natural lighting in our house, so I really have to pick our plants wisely. Anyway, I am happy with the way the bookshelves turned out.
Our 19 year old cat loves the heating vent:)
Besides, the plant, I did not buy anything else for the shelves. The best kind of home decor projects are the ones that are FREE!
Five // Last Day of School Plans
When does school end where you live? My kids were hoping our school would end early as many school near us seem to be doing. But, we got a e-mail from our district that they have no plans to end school even a day early:) So the countdown until June 4th is on.
The last day of school is one of the most anticipated days of the entire school year and I am bummed my kids do not get to experience it fully. Instead, I am working on some fun activities at home.
Earlier this week I shared 15 Fun Ideas to Celebrate the Last Day of School. Check them out and let me know what plans you are making for the end of the school year! This year, more than ever, our kids have worked so hard to adapt and adjust to this new type of schooling. I have found that kids often roll with the punches better than adults!
So I want to make sure they get to celebrate the closure of this school year in a fun way!
Anyway, that wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites! I hope you have a great weekend and your family stays healthy. See you back here next week.
I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for this Friday Favorites post, so be sure to head over to their blogs as well!

Your jumpsuit is so precious and I love the shelves. Have a sweet weekend.
That jumpsuit looks amazing on you and I love those tees! Have a great weekend Jaclyn 🙂
I notice you have backwards books on your shelves – that’s a new style I’ve been seeing around! My kids were supposed to get out on the 27th and now it’s the 22nd.
Schools around here don’t close until mid-June (being homeschoolers we ended our schooling a month ago). Those father’s day signs are such a cute idea. Sadly, we don’t have any of those stores in our area.
That jumpsuit is SO cute – love it! Have a great weekend!!
