Cheers to another Friday! As usual, I am sharing my favorites of the week and I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites.  We spent most of the week getting back into the groove after our spring break trip. I’ll share a peek into our last few days and some of my favorites of the week.

D.C. Trip

Our D.C. trip was the highlight of our spring break week! We spent three nights in the city and we certainly covered a lot of ground (quite literally)! Washington, D.C. is a walking city! Yesterday I recapped our trip including our highlights and some of our low lights as well!

Family Fun on Our D.C. Trip

If you are planning a trip to D.C. with your family, I hope I was able to offer you some tips and things to consider! For those who have been with the family, I’d love to hear about your favorites!

We Were the Lucky Ones

I had the best intentions of doing a little reading on our trip, but it didn’t happen.  However, this week I just started reading We Were the Lucky Ones. If you liked The Nightingale, you will love this one too. I can not put this book down and have been trying to squeeze in five minutes here and there to read a few pages when I can. I hope to finish the book this weekend!

Must Read Book 2018

WWII books are  intense and emotional reads, so sometimes I need to read a light book after reading one of these! Send any suggestions for something light and funny for me to read!

Decluttering My Closet

In case you missed my post, on Monday I shared my organized (small) master closet as part of the Clear the Clutter Challenge. I am so relieved to have my clothes organized for the spring and summer months! I let go of a lot of clothes that I had been hanging on to (even though I probably would never wear) and it feels so good!

Spring Tiered Tray Style

This past week I took down all of my Easter decor and have kept things simple and clutter free around the house.  In my galvanized tiered tray, I swapped out my Easter decor with some springtime items. I was stuck on what to add to the tray and didn’t want to go to the stores for anything new. So real fruit and veggies to the rescue!

It’s always a home decor win when you don’t have to spend money to style a space! I’ve got some fun and functional ideas on how to style the tray for summer, so stay tuned!

Signs of Spring

Yesterday was a beautiful spring day and we took full advantage of the afternoon.

We put up our favorite tree swing!

The best tree swing

Some of us roller skated and created some sidewalk art.

These activities are sure signs of spring!

Plant Story

Finally, I’ll end on sort of funny and sort of “sad” note! A few weeks ago, you may remember I DIY’d some terra cotta pots and added some indoor house plants to warm up our home! Well, upon returning from our trip, we found that one of our lavender plants did not survive! Perhaps I am not the #plantlady I had hoped I could be:) Maybe I should stick to faux plants?!

Friday Favorites April 2018

Our other plants are looking great thankfully! But I’ll need to find something new for this particular pot. #sortofapinterestfail

The weather is perking up here in Ohio, so we should be spending some time outside this weekend! Hope you have a great weekend and see you back here soon!

I love how you’ve arranged your cups and fruit on your tiered tray! I really want one just to hold all of the fun little “trinkets” I find but can’t seem to find a good place for! Have a great weekend!

I love your tiered tray! I need something like this.

D.C. is awesome! We went a few years ago and loved it. When our little ones are a bit older, we plan to take them.
