Friday Favorites: Easy Meal Ideas for May, New Cleaning Tool and Stitch Fix Decisions
Cheers to Friday! My kids have less than 15 days of school and we are ready more than ever for summer break! Summer break always brings a little bit of an adjustment period for the kids–and me! But once we hit our groove, we really soak up every minute of it. Anyway, I am back this week with a short and sweet Friday Favorites post! This week’s post includes my hack for surviving family dinners in May, what I decided to keep from my Stitch Fix box and our new favorite cleaning tool!, the Dyson Stick Vacuum!
Easy Crock Pot Dinner Ideas
It is hard to believe we are already over halfway done with May! I don’t feel like the real CRAZY has set in. That level of nuttiness is usually reserved for the last two weeks of school, which for us, has just officially set in! Nonetheless, the entire month is sure a busy one. Recently, I ordered this cookbook from Amazon (after seeing A Bowl Full of Lemons recommend it) and it has been a dinner (life) saver this month! I normally put my crockpot away for the spring and summer because we tend to grill out a lot. But with a busy weekday schedule, we need dinner on the table quick and I do not have a lot of time to prepare meals.
So far, I’ve made four recipes from this cookbook and they have all been good. Our family’s favorite recipe so far is a cinnamon sugar biscuit recipe that we had on Mother’s Day!
If you are like me and you don’t use the crock pot much this season, reconsider using it during this busy time of year!
Dyson Stick Vacuum
If you caught my Instastories the other day, you saw I got a new Dyson Stick Vacuum. While on vacation last month in Rosemary Beach, we stayed in a condo that had one of these vacuums. My husband and I loved it! The vacuum is so lightweight and easy to use.
In my opinion, the Dyson vacuum is so much more efficient at cleaning hard wood floors than sweeping with a broom. As Dysons are not cheap, I went back and forth on whether to try a competitor’s vacuum. But, last weekend, Amazon had a flash deal on this vacuum making it a comparable price with other makes and models.
After almost a week with the vacuum, we love it! It makes after dinner clean up so easy and as of now, the kids are all vying for this after dinner chore! So I have barely had to use it myself. Win win!
It so much less bulky than our regular vacuum that I see us using this new one more and our older vacuum less and less. It works great on carpet and hardwood floors! I am officially obsessed with our new cleaning tool!!
Stitch Fix May Box
Earlier this week, I shared the details on my latest Stitch Fix box. I was pleasantly surprised that I liked almost all of the pieces. Now that I have received four boxes, I have figured out a few strategies to get a box full of things that I like.
My favorite item in the Stitch Fix box was this pair of floral shorts. Since they were are on the pricier side, I really hesitated to keep them. But, after getting some opinions on Instagram, it seemed like everyone thought I should keep them! So, I returned everything in the box except for the shorts.

That wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites post! Hope you have a great weekend! I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for this Friday Favorites post, so be sure to head over to their blogs as well!l!
That cookbook sounds great and you are so right about keeping that crockpot out- it is such a life saver! Best of luck in the last few weeks of school- I LOVE May but don’t enjoy the craziness- have a wonderful weekend Jaclyn!
I never think to use my crockpot much after those cold winter nights have passed but I know there are so many things I could be making in it that I just never think to throw together. That looks like a great cookbook.
I’d like to use my crock pot more often. I have done sheet pan meals 3 times now thanks to you! Glad you kept the shorts. They are cute!
I really should use the crockpot more in the summer. Love the shorts – that’s great you decided to get them!
