Friday Favorites: Fall Home Decor Updates, Fall Fun List and Chore Management
Hi Friends! This week seemed to go on forever and by Wednesday it felt like we should be at Friday already. But, now we made it to the weekend! Happy Friday! This weekend, I am heading to a BloggyCon (a blogger conference). You can follow along with me on Instagram if you are curious what it is all about. I am excited to learn from experienced bloggers and continue to grow in this field! Anyway, before I get ready to leave, I wanted to share my Friday Favorites. Just a few of my favorites in the way of home, style and family from the week!
Fall Home Decor
I feel like a little bit of a fall failure because I haven’t quite gotten in the mood to decorate. Can anyone else relate? I am still holding on to summer (and the weather around here is doing the same!). Anyway, I did make a few changes around the house and I will share a fall home tour in the next week.
I’m keeping things simple with changes in colors, textures and a whole lot of pumpkins thrown in here and there.
You can see some of my fall decor here:
Fall Fun List Template
Last week, I shared an adorable fall bucket list that I used as a fall home decor accent.
Now, this week, we worked on our own specific fall fun list! I created a simple fall checklist printable that you can use to make your own fall fun list too!
As I talked about in THIS POST, it’s important to keep your seasonal bucket list realistic and manageable. Take a look at your calendar and determine what activities you can (and everyone wants) to do! It is better to do a few fun, meaningful activities then to have a list of too many activities that you can never realistically finish!
Kids Money Management System
My kids are getting to the point where I feel like I am shelling out money every other minute. One day it’s a few dollars for a trip to the ice cream shop with friends and the next day it’s money for a birthday party gift. My daughter recently introduced me to the Greenlight Card. One of her friends has the card and her family loves it. It is a free service unless you want to upgrade your card.
It is a prepaid debit card for kids. Parents reload money to the card! There are so many features of this card and I will do a full review soon once we have been using the card for awhile.
We are especially excited about using the Greenlight app to manage the kids chores. You can set the chores and then they can log on to check off when they’ve completed the chores. You can set the allowance to automatically pay or you can manually add to your account.
The money comes directly out of the parent’s bank account. So, no more IOUs in the kids’ piggy banks (or is that just me?!)
Parents can put limits on where the debit card can be used. A really nice feature is that kids and parents can see a spending history. Great for tracking when all the money is going. What a great money lesson to learn early!!
Greenlight Card Features
But some of the key features of the card include:
*Limits on what stores and how money can be spent.
*Parents add money to the card. This is not a credit card!
*Kids can designate money to save and give.
*Parents can set up automatic monthly interest that is paid out monthly to money in the “save” category.
*There is a chore management component. Kids check off when the chore has been completed.
While this card can’t be used in the situations that actual cash is needed, there is an ATM feature to the card! We are just learning about all of the details on this card. But my older two kids are so excited. It seems like an easier way to manage their chores and their money.
Plus, this card is also teaching them about managing their own money. When the card is out of money, they can’t use it!
More details on the Greenlight Card coming soon! If you are interested in giving Greenlight a try, you can use my referral code and we each get $10! The monthly service is $4.99.

Cute leopard top! I’m feeling the same, I’m holding on to summer and not really ready to deck the halls with fall.

I hear you on the fall decorating. It’s still pretty warm here and I cannot get motivated to decorate for fall. Maybe this weekend.
