Friday we meet again! Hope you all had a wonderful week! This weekend we are headed out of town, so I have a little bit of packing and organizing yet to do. But before that, I wanted to share my favorites of the week. This week’s Friday Favorites includes our new fall mantle decor, Trader Joe’s Fall favorites and a few local shopping events!

It’s beginning to look like fall around here. I finished up our fall mantle decor and also updated our front porch.

I have really resisted the urge to buy any new fall decor. The worst part about buying new seasonal decor is figuring out where to store it once the season is over. This year, when I brought out my fall decor boxes, I realized I had too much. So, I pared down what I had and I decided not to get anything new.

So, the best way to make old decor seem like new decor is to mix things around the house. I gather what I have already on display and move it to different parts of the house. Plus, I mix up where I put the seasonal decor. So if it was on the mantle last year, I might move it to a shelf this year.

I was able to use what I had on hand to create our fall mantle. It does help to have a good “base”  of home decor to work with. I always utilize lanterns, vases, candles, etc to decorate a space.

I did spend $3 at the Dollar Store on some floral fillers. While there are always more expensive ways to decorate, it is nice to start with what you have and also look for inexpensive options.
