Hi Friends! Happy Friday! What a first week of 2021 it has been. At home, we are trying to get back into the swing of work and school and I have to say it has been slow going. I am hoping that this weekend, we can rest and recharge. As usual, I am keeping things light and positive over here with another week of Friday Favorites. I share some fun finds in home, style and family.

New Family Room Rug
My favorite purchase over the holiday was a new rug for our family room. We really loved our previous cream colored shag carpet. But, after over 5 years with kids and pets, it was really showing its wear. Shag rugs are great for durability and hiding imperfections. But at the same time, shag rugs are really hard to maintain! Vacuuming a shag carpet is the worst!
So, I came across this light colored rug and decided to give it a try! We are so happy with the new rug! Everyone including my kids and husband loves the light and bright look the rug brings to the room. It is a dream to vacuum. Time will tell if it hides the dirt and spills but I do think it will be an easier rug to keep clean.
We actually have a new sectional couch that has been ordered and I will share it with you when it arrives. Fingers crossed it is within the month but I have heard that furniture shipments are very delayed.
Kitchen Organization
Are you joining us on the Clear the Clutter Challenge? This week, we are working on Kitchen Organization.
I’ve been sharing all of my mini kitchen organization projects on Instagram. One of the biggest improvements I made was to our small kitchen pantry cabinets.
I ordered these clear cereal containers to organize our many boxes of cereal. The kids are loving this new system! I like it because I can see how much cereal we have let and now I will not over buy.
Morning Habits
Also this week on the blog, I shared my morning routine. It is not always perfect and there are days I do not follow it exactly. But, I know when I have a good morning routine, the rest of my day runs a lot more smoothly.
Check out these 7 Morning Habits and let me know what things you do in the morning to get your day on the right track!
Book Plans for 2021
On Instagram, I shared the 15 books that I read in 2020. This year, my goal is 24 books which I do not think will be too challenging. My Book of the Month membership will help me get to my goal. I usually order one book a month. Some months, I skip and then the next month, I order two books. You can sign up now and get your first month for $5. I absolutely love this subscription. It is a great way to motivate me to read plus I get exposure to books I would have not picked out on my own.
I started the year by reading, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. This was a great read. The main character, Eleanor at first seemed a little hard to like, but over the course of the book, I really got to understand her. This is definitely a book to add to your list.
Friday Wrap Up
It is easy to get wrapped up all the bad that is around us all right now. But, we can also choose to focus on what is good and the positives that are right in front of our eyes. I am hoping to recharge this weekend and be cozy with my people. Hopefully we will get outside for some fresh air too. Hope you have a great weekend!
