Happy Friday! Hello (almost) August! Can you believe it is the last day of July? I can not even believe how quickly this month flew by. Next weekend we leave for a week long family vacation. As with all things this year, you do not believe it will materialize until it actually happens. But we are sure looking forward to a change of scenery. Anyway, as usual I am popping on this Friday to share favorites in home, style and family!

One // Boys Shared Desk Update

Is anyone else going a little crazy with the back to school plans? It is definitely not a favorite topic of mine this week(:

I’m trying to be realistic about the whole thing and accept the things that can not be changed! It seems inevitable that the kids will be home learning (maybe sooner than later). So, we are moving forward with our boys’ shared desk set up.

Last Friday, I shared our plans to create a homework/desk station for the boys. I ended up ordering the Ikea drawer units which will not arrive for a few weeks.

Gumball Machine // Navy Blue File Cabinets // Brown Faux Leather Computer Chairs // Black Metal Lamp // Black Lidded Glass Jar

Brown World Globe // Galvanized Wall Organizer // Hanging Wall Tapestry//

Honestly, working on a fun homework zone for my kids is a really nice focus. If you are really looking for a very cheerful school at home set up, check out these adorable room from Grace, Giggles & Naptime.

The cutest set up especially if you have younger kids!

Two // New Family Activity

One of our favorites this summer has been taking up a new hobby: Pickleball! I had heard of Pickleball but never knew exactly what it was until this summer. Now, my family is hooked! The game has some similarities to tennis.  There are these paddles instead of rackets.  You can play the game on a tennis court but is is a shorter playing field and a shorter net. Luckily, at the court we play at, the pickleball lines are drawn on the court.

What we like about Pickleball, even more than tennis, is that it is a really playable game for all ages. While tennis can be tough to get good at, Pickleball is a game that everyone can catch on to rather quickly. The rules are pretty straightforward and the games moves fast.

We are always looking for activities for the family that everyone can enjoy and Pickleball has become of those things. Have you ever played Pickleball?

Three // Colorful Jewelry Project

I’ve been seeing these cute disc bracelets every where these days. I love that they are so unique and colorful.

While they are not very expensive to purchase and I love supporting small businesses, I bought the materials to make our own. My daughter has been making jewelry this summer, so I thought it’d be a fun project to work on together.

I just bought this big bag of colorful bead discs  and we have been having fun making our own bracelet creations.

There are days I feel like we have run out of all the usual summer things we like to do. But, it is nice when we can come up with a new activity, like crafting or working on a project.

Four // Front Porch Update

Earlier this week, I shared a small front porch update. I’ve been wanting to swap out our small address sign for metal numbers for a while. Finally, I purchased the numbers and we completed the project!

Black Metal House Numbers

We are so happy with how the new numbers look on our porch. Such a small change that made a big impact to our front door step.

Well, that wraps another Friday Favorites! I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for this Friday Favorites post, so be sure to head over to their blogs as well! Hope you have a great weekend!

Yes- school is consuming my thoughts and elevating stress all around here- we are preparing for in person and then perhaps pulling back and going all remote BUT if too many people choose in person then we have to go hybrid- pure nightmare Jaclyn- love your creativity with desk set ups though- genius! Have a great weekend 🙂

The back and forth with school is pure insanity! I hope we can look back a year from now from a much calmer and normal back to school season.
