Friday Favorites: Spring Home Decor, Style and Cleaning Checklist
Happy Friday and Hello Spring! I hope you had a great week! There is something so motivating about starting a new season, especially when it is spring! This week, I’ve been working on our 10 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge. I have never really followed a spring cleaning plan, but I can say that it is a lot easier to have a checklist. Anyway, as usual I am recapping the week with my Friday Favorites! Sharing a little bit of mom life and my latest favorite finds and products!
Spring Home Decor Finds
I was excited for a chance to spend a little time at the home stores this week! Every store is bursting with spring and I am so inspired by it all! My first stop was our new Homesense. I loved all the color groupings including this spot with green, white and light wood tones! It makes me want to get outside and set up our patio. Unfortunately, it is still a little too early for that!
This year, we might update our outdoor dining table and chairs set. We’ve had our current set since we moved into the house 9 years ago and it is really showing some wear. I didn’t see any table sets I loved at Homesense. But there were so many chair and couch sets if you are looking.
If my kids were just a little younger, I would have scooped this adorable lemonade stand right up. Oh my goodness, what fun kids could have with this set up.
Right next door to Homesense, is my local Kirklands store. While I didn’t buy anything at Homesense, I did purchase several things at Kirklands. My main focus of this shopping trip was some new pillows for our family room sectional. Normally, I prefer to buy pillow covers. But I bought a couple of Kirklands’ pillows last fall , that I absolutely love, so I wanted to see what they had for spring.
They have so many pillows in every color scheme! It was so hard to decide. It didn’t hurt that all of Kirkland’s pillows are 20% off right now!
The rose color that is out right now is so pretty but it doesn’t go with anything in my house. So I ended up in the pillow section that had lighter colors. Decisions, decisions! It really helps to pull out all the pillows you like and try them out together.
I ended up with several pillows–-I’ll share my selections next week! Kirklands also several items on clearance.
Also, there were a lot of items on clearance. These black stripe straw baskets are so pretty and functional!
I ended up grabbing this set of three glass canisters. They were a great price and I had the perfect spot in mind for them. Right now I am just using two of them. Three canisters seemed too cluttered, but I might change my mind.
Kirklands has some pretty planters too! I loved this set of two ceramic planters, which are a great price! These would work for indoors or outside!
I really LOVE these large galvanized planters. You could use these for flowers, or a mini garden or even for a beverage container for a summer party!
I took home this small yellow planter that will go well with my new lemon doormat. A spring porch refresh is coming soon!

Lastly, I spotted this black and white checkered doormat. If I was in the market for a new one, I definitely would have snagged this one. So pretty for a covered porch or patio–or to use indoors!

Spring Dress Favorites
So, I shared on Instagram, that I did not have a successful Stitch Fitch box this month. Honestly, I was bummed because I was hoping for a good box. This was my third Stitch Fix and I was hoping that they would get my style this time. (You can read about my last two Stitch Fix boxes HERE and HERE).
I am not giving up hope yet as I will try one more box later in the spring. Hopefully they will figure out my style….or I will figure out how to communicate my style! I will try to be even more detailed in my request next time.
Anyway, I did find a few spring dresses at Evereve this week. Actually, my mom these dresses for herself and I ended up copying her:)
This long sleeve pink dress was a bargain ($29.99) that I could not pass up. It is perfect for spring weather when it is still a little chilly but nice enough out to wear a dress. I love the soft material of this dress. It looks like it is sold out online but maybe available in store. This pale pink dress is also so pretty and on sale too.
Also, I love this new striped navy and gold dress sleeveless dress. It is light enough for summer but I can also wear it with a cardigan in the spring.

As Seen on the Blog
This week, the theme has been spring cleaning! On Monday, I started off the week with the 10 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge. The Challenge officially kicked off on Wednesday and there is still time to join it! If you want a little extra motivation, be sure to sign up below! You will receive the checklist with daily tasks and I am sending out one e-mail each day with extra tips and tricks!
My six year old was a big help this week, as we worked on different spring cleaning chores after school. I definitely recommend getting the whole family on board with spring cleaning. You may have to break down the tasks to kid friendly, manageable chores. You also make have to accept a little less than perfect! But it is so worth it to get your kids involved in household chores from an early age!
I was surprised how excited my little guy was to help me. I made sure to pick tasks I knew he could do independently and ones that he would have fun with!
As relatively clean as I thought my house was, it is amazing how much dust and dirt accumulates in places you do not notice!
Also, this week, I posted some ideas for Road Trip Activities for your family! We’ve got spring break on our minds and even though ours is still a month away, we are getting ready.
If you are headed somewhere on spring break, be sure to check out these screen free travel activities for your kids! I ended up ordering several of the games and crafts for the kids’ Easter baskets!
That about wraps up the week!! Happy Friday and I hope you have a great weekend! I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for this Friday Favorites post, so be sure to head over to their blogs as well!
