Friday Favorites: Spring Break Fun in Cleveland and Washington, D.C. Trip
Woohoo it’s Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful week! We have been on spring break all week and we have mixed in some work and play this break. As usual, I am sharing my favorites of the week and I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites. I’ll share a peek into our last few days and some of my favorites of the week.
Spring Clean
We started our spring break just chilling around the house. It was nice to not have many plans or a set schedule. We did squeeze in a few chores around the house. On Monday, I shared a 30 minute hack for spring cleaning your entryway. Then yesterday, I shared our 30 minute spring cleaning bathroom checklist! I am all about quick and easy cleaning chores!
One day this week we had a fun day planned and so before we left the house we did a 30 minute power clean. I set the timer for the thirty minutes and everyone cleaned up their rooms and other areas they had messes. No one was particularly excited about it but I think it helped to have a set ending time. Plus, we knew we were going to have fun (and ice cream) later.
Spring Break Fun in Cleveland
Once we were done with our chores, we spent a whole day having spring break in Cleveland! Our first stop was the new Red Robin that opened near us. This was the kids’ pick! The kids loved the idea of the unlimited mac and cheese and fries that comes with their meals, yet no one needed a second helping of anything!
Then, we headed across town to the Cleveland Museum of Art. This FREE museum is so beautiful and comprehensive! It’s easy to spend all day there. We picked a few areas to cover including the interactive kids room. I didn’t know if my boys would enjoy the museum as much as my daughter but they really got into it. We made it our mission to find the oldest piece of art in the museum which was from 4000 B.C.

Our next stop was for a little afternoon treat at Sweet Moses Soda Fountain. You feel like you are stepping back in time when you walk in this old fashioned ice cream parlor!
Three of us got an ice cream treat and my non-sweet loving child got a bowl of popcorn:) If every ice cream shop had this option, my five year old would be so happy!
Our last stop of the day was a bonus because we didn’t even know it existed! Just down the street from Sweet Moses was a pinball arcade called Superelectric Pinball Parlor. This was another place that takes you back in time, this time to the 1980’s. We loved this place! All of the games were 25-50 cents and because were were there during the day, there were no lines for any of the games. This is definitely a spot we will stop at again!
This day was definitely a favorite of the week! When we got home we crashed on the couch and had a movie night!
Tiered Tray
Next, I shared this deal on Facebook the other day, but it’s too good not to share here. My FAVORITE TIERED TRAY is on SALE!! This is the lowest price I have seen. I absolutely love this tray and I have so much fun changing it around for the holidays!

Halloween Tray Styling
This tray is so much fun and adds a little character to your home! It’s an easy way to add some seasonal touches to the home without having to go crazy with decorating!
Road Trip Ready
The second half of our break is being spent in D.C.! My crew loves a good road trip and this 6 hour trip (each way) will be the perfect driving distance! Is it just mine or do your kids ask for food the entire drive of a trip?? I make sure to pack a ton of snacks and we basically eat our way through the drive.
I did an informal poll on Instagram stories the other day and it sounds like the majority of you (96%) like to bring your own food for the drive instead of buying food at rest stops.
Per the usual, I had the kids each make several of their own trail mix bags. I can’t say enough how great these snacks are when you are on the go! The kids love the freedom they get in making their own mixes.
DC Fun
Now that we are in D.C., I will be soaking up lots of family time! We are hitting the peak of cherry blossom blooming, so it will sure be a beautiful sight!
