Friday Favorites: Target Finds, Sourdough Starter and Valentine’s Cards
Happy Friday! This week went by so quickly it feels like it was just the weekend. Now my kids have another three day weekend. I am not sure what plans we will come up with to spend our time.
Friday Favorites
Anyway as usual, I am sharing some Friday Favorites in home, style and family.

Target Spring Decor
Earlier in the week Target released some new Studio McGee home decor products. I am going to be really honest that nothing particularly caught my eye. I do love Studio McGee and I have these set of vases and this faux planter. The new line includes more faux plants, serving pieces and pictures. There is a lot of fun pieces if you are looking for a little refresh.
But, even after visiting Target and looking at the new releases in person, I didn’t see anything I wanted or needed.
Although, I did bring home a new home decor item that was not Studio McGee. I spotted this long mango wood bowl and I thought it would look good on our kitchen counter.
It is a good bowl to hold fruit or serve bread.
This is such a good price compared to what you would find at other stores!
Valentine’s Day Cards
Earlier this week, I released a new Free Valentine’s Day Card Printable. Last year, I shared a fun Popcorn Valentine card. This year, we went with a fish theme for the Valentine’s Cards.
You can head here to download. It is a free option so all you need to do is buy your favorite fish themed snack!
Sour Dough Bread Starter
Over the last few years, I have made a lot of bread both from a starter and in our bread machine. I love the ease of the bread machine and I have some tried and true recipes that my family loves.
However, my kids have also been asking for me to make sourdough bread. It has been a few years since I have taken care of a sourdough starter. It is a bit of work to maintain the starter!
I was so excited to try a sourdough starter from this Etsy Shop. When you order a kit, you are sent a small packer of starter to get you going. The kit also includes very detailed instructions on how to take care of the starter.
I had a few questions along the way and when I messaged the owner, she got back to me right away. We made our first loaf last weekend and it turned out so well! Yay! If you are wanting to try to make sourdough bread, I recommend trying out the starter from this shop!
Decluttering the Bedroom
We are wrapping up Week three of the Clear the Clutter Challenge. This week we tackled bedrooms and I have to admit that I still have some work to finish up this weekend.
It is not too late to join the Challenge and you can sign up here to get all of the information.
Friday Wrap Up
That is about it for this week’s Friday Favorites. I have a few things to do around the house before the kids get home from school for the long weekend. Have a great Friday!
I agree with you on the Studio McGee collection- when I think Spring, I think color! This collection seems bland but still love Target! 🙂 Enjoy the sourdough and have a wonderful weekend Jaclyn!
I really like that bowl!
Thanks Dara!
I have a starter sitting on my counter and have felt pretty stressed about keeping it alive.
I hear you–it is a little stressful:)
