Happy Friday! We are looking forward to a fun weekend with Mother’s Day. Plus, my daughter is in a community theater performance all weekend. It will be a busy one! As usual, I am sharing my Friday Favorites! This week includes some Target outdoor sale finds, details on a new window box project and a few other small favorites as well!

Target Outdoor Sale

Did you know Target is having a sale on outdoor furniture and decor? I happened to stop into my local Target on Monday and I came across some great deals on patio furniture and decor.

We actually wanted a new outdoor rug and there was still a really good selection. Sometimes, I find that by mid May, outdoor decor is already picked over!

Target Blue Outdoor Rug

I LOVE this new rug! It is so fresh and really brightens up the patio. Once I get our patio set up, I’ll be sure to share the details.

This black metal dining set is so pretty! I spotted this set at our store and immediately took a picture to send to my husband. I love that one side of the table has bench seating. If needed, you could squeeze 3 young kids on the bench–it is a generous size. This set is a strong contender for our patio as our current set is 10 years old and is showing its age.

This table is not overly wide. Which is perfect if you are looking for a table that seats a crowd but that does not take up a ton of patio space.  It really seems solid and durable too.

New Window Boxes

We finally took the plunge on window boxes! I think we have been talking about adding window boxes to our house since we moved in! But, we have dragged our feet on the project because we didn’t know what kind we wanted and because window boxes can be really expensive.

But, I came across these boxes from Target (sold online only) and we decided to give them a try. I am SO HAPPY with them! These were a lot more reasonably priced than other options, which can run well over $200 per box.

The window boxes are molded plastic planters and made from 100% high-grade polyethylene. I couldn’t believe, but the boxes have a 15 year warranty! Honestly, one of the reasons we waited on buying window boxes was because we worried how long they would hold up (for the price you pay for them!).

how to install window boxes

While not an overly challenging home project, there is a little bit of legwork to get the window boxes installed. You need to install wood strips onto the siding and then hang the boxes from the wood strip. I will do an instructional post soon…once we have all of the boxes installed and flowers planted inside of them. My husband has to install the window boxes on the second floor, which will be tricky. Wish him luck!!

Mother’s Five Minute Journal

We are about a week into the May Self-Care Challenge. Are you joining me? Don’t worry, you can print out the daily self care checklist and start the challenge anytime! I have missed a few of my goals here and there but overall, I am committing to checking off  my self care habits every day.

One new habit I have added in is writing in this Q & A Moms Journal. I purchased it several years ago and I have not been consistent in writing in it until recently. What I love about this journal is that there is a daily prompt to answer and you just need to write a sentence or two. I don’t keep a daily journal (besides my gratitude journal), so this little mom’s journal is a perfect diary for me!

I keep the mom’s journal with my gratitude journal so that I do not forget to write in it!

As Seen on the Blog

In case you didn’t catch my posts earlier in the week, I shared a full report of our family trip to Rosemary Beach. I am giving you all of the details on what you can expect to do, eat and find at this Florida 30 A beach community!

Rosemary Beach was so fun and a great place to take the family! I hope we can be back to the area in the next few years.

Also, this week, we reviewed the latest Kids Night in Box! The theme of this month’s box was Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  This box was PACKED with goodies!

best subscription box for kids 2019 #crafts #art #affiliate #kidsnightinboxI really appreciate these Kids Night in Boxes because it allows us to connect as a family but it does not require any preparation on my part! We open the box, read through the instructions and then we get started on the activities! I think my kids love the thrill of finding out what the theme of the latest box will be! These boxes have really been a great fit for our family.
