Happy Friday Friends! We are already half way through March. This is always the slowest part of the year. We are past the excitement of winter and staying cozy inside. Now, all I want to do is spend time outside but it is not quite warm enough yet. I wouldn’t mind if we could skip ahead to May. I need to live in the moment a little more and just know that warmer days are here soon.
Anyway, as usual, I am sharing some favorites in home, style and family.

Target Spring Fashion Finds
Last weekend, my daughter and I went out to the stores hunting for some spring clothing. While my family was sick a few weeks ago, my daughter and I had a chance to clean out her closet. We got rid of three bags of clothes. She had truly outgrown her clothes from last summer and we really needed to restock her closet. She found some really cute things last weekend. The worst part of shopping though is not being able to use the dressing rooms! I have so many returns to do this weekend. Ugh!
Of course, I spotted a few cute things too. I ended up with this short sleeve sweatshirt from Target. These tops are really trending right now.
My favorite store, Evereve, has an adorable short sleeve sweatshirt. However, this version is REALLY pricey. So, I was happy to find an alternative for a fraction of the cost at Target. I had to size up one to get the look I wanted with the top. I think it is a great transition piece for the next few months.
Here are a few more spring finds that caught my eye at Target.
These Universal Threads shorts are my absolute favorite. Each year I buy one or two new pairs. It is the only shorts I typically wear. Although I did get that new pair from Amazon last week.
The only color I do not have is White, so I might grab this pair.
This week, I started reading the parenting book “Thrivers”. It is a five star rated book on helping your kids thrive by teaching them seven key traits including confidence, empathy, perseverance, self control and several others. The book just came out so I appreciate that it is very relevant to today’s world.
The author of the book also wrote “Unselfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in an All About Me World” which looks to be a very good book too. In a few weeks,
I am going to round up some of my favorite parenting books, so I will report back if Thrivers is another good one!
Also, if you didn’t catch my post earlier this week, I had the unique opportunity to partner with Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth to talk about the challenges facing foster care families and children in the foster care system. Please head here to read this post!
As the weather is rainy and chilly here, I am trying to think warm thoughts. This week, I rounded up some of the Best Games to Play at the Beach. Whether you are heading somewhere warm on spring break or you need a fun Easter gift idea, check out this post.
Speaking of Beach themed Easter gifts, I just ordered this Beach Aquarium Kit for my eight year old for Easter. He is going to LOVE it. He loves to find things at the beach and on our trip to Tybee Island he loved to catch small crabs.
I know he will be using this toy all summer long.
Friday Wrap Up
I’m ready for the weekend. I need to get a few things done around the house before the kids get home. Friday is movie night with my boys while my daughter has volleyball practice. I wonder what they will pick to watch.
P.S. If you grew up in the 90’s, I recommend watching Kid 90 with Soleil Moon Frye. My husband and I watched the other night (not kid appropriate) and it was a really good documentary!
Have a great weekend!
