Friday-Favorites-01.jpg (640×640)

Yay for Friday! I’m here again linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea another Friday Favorites. It’s been a long week filled with a lot of emotions from all of the recent events in our country. My husband is going to Las Vegas in a few weeks with his longtime friends and it is sad to think about what happened there just a few days ago. It’s times like these that I appreciate my family and the day-to-day of life. Sometimes I can get caught up in the daily grind and feel overwhelmed with the endless chores and to-do lists. But I have to remind myself that I’m truly sweating the small stuff. Life can change in a blink and you have to appreciate what you have.

With that being said, this weekend is going to be a special one! My mom and I are headed on our annual mother-daughter shopping trip! This event is a favorite of mine. I am so grateful to get to spend some one-on-one time with my mom.

Mother Daughter Shopping Trip

This is a big tradition that started back in my teens as a back to school shopping trip. My mom was a teacher so it truly was a back to school shopping event back then. Even though neither of us return to any sort of school, we still keep the tradition going! It is fun to get away for two nights and talk without being interrupted by the kids (mamas you get me!). Literally we walk all day and come back to our hotel with aching legs and feet. I don’t have any major must haves on my shopping list but I’m hoping to find some cozy and fun fall clothes. Also, hopefully I can accomplish a little Christmas shopping.

2016 Mother-Daughter trip

Speaking of traditions, in case you missed my post this week I talked about family traditions. While the mother-daughter shopping event is a big, yearly event, I talked about smaller traditions you can do with your family on a daily and weekly basis.

Movie Night

One of our favorite family traditions is movie night! I will be missing out on it this weekend as I’ll be with my mom. But I know my husband and the kids will definitely keep the tradition going.

Halloween Bat Wall Decor

Now that we are fully into October, the excitement for Halloween in our house is in full force!  I found the cutest Halloween decoration to make that was so easy! This little bat wall display is so fun!! I found this free template from Craft Passion to trace the bats and I bought black poster board paper from Target . For under $1,  I have a festive addition to my decor. Inexpensive and easy holiday decorations are a favorite of mine.

Aldi Find

I still love decorating for Fall a little more than Halloween. So when I saw this $7 rug at Aldi rug I had to get it. My favorite fall find of the week! If you haven’t jumped on the Aldi train yet, I really recommend you check it out. I gave into the hype this year and stopped into a store for the first time. You have to get used to the system of bringing a quarter (that you get back!) for your cart and you bag your own groceries. But if you can get past these little inconveniences it is well worth your efforts!

I’m always impressed by what I find every visit. They carry so many organic products that are almost always less expensive than other stores. And that’s my little Aldi PSA for you!

Scent-sational Cleaner

A sweet reader (thank you Patty!) recommended this favorite of the week. This Method all purpose cleaner is apple cider scented and it smells amazing!! I can’t get enough of these fall smells!

Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by! I’d love to hear about any of your fun fall finds or some of your favorites of the week!
