Happy Friday! How has your week been going? I’ve been home with sick kids several of the days, so I am ready for the weekend to begin. I ended up getting a lot of things done around the house in between snuggles on the couch with the sick patients:) Anyway, as usual I am back to link up with Erika, Narci and Andrea. for Friday Favorites! I’ll recap our week, share a few new fun finds and favorites!
The Magic of Tidying Up
Who else is obsessed with Marie Kondo’s new Netflix show The Magic of Tidying Up? Wow, I can’t get enough of her tips and motivation. I honestly have never read her book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, because the idea of only keeping objects that “Sparked Joy” seemed a little far fetched to me. But after watching her show I totally get it and I am so inspired to go through every nook and cranny of our home.
This week we kicked off our Clear the Clutter Challenge and we started with kitchen, pantry and dining room! I’ve been tackling a little bit each day (and following along with our daily decluttering calendar).
I even tackled our under the sink storage which was a bit of a mess. It feels so good to open cabinets and see everything looking so nice!
There is still time to join in on this challenge and I am hearing from so many of you that you are motivated! Yay! If you would like to join our challenge and receive exclusive tips and printables, sign up HERE! Also, be sure to join our Clear the Clutter Facebook page!!
Saving Money in the New Year
It seems like everyone has decluttering and saving money in the New Year on their minds. I kicked off a month long money saving series on Wednesday with a guest post from my (sports loving) husband on How to Cut the Cable Cord. We cut cable last year (and have saved almost $1000) and we have not looked back. Have you gotten rid of cable?
Next week, I will share some money saving ideas for buying groceries and household items!
Valentine’s Day Favorites
Also, this week, my family and I started to think about Valentine’s Day. I know, we just got over Christmas, but we love to prepare and think about the next fun holiday. While it might seem counterproductive to decorate for Valentine’s Day while I am also decluttering and organizing, I truly love (and find joy!) in decorating for holidays and seasons. I clean and organize SO I can decorate and display the things I love.
On Tuesday, I shared some inexpensive Valentine’s Day Decor favorites!! You can see all my favorites over HERE. My personal favorite are the heart dollies that we used last year to decorate our coffee station.
Wooden arrows Buffalo Check Plaid Pillow
This was last year’s coffee bar, so I’ll need to work on a new idea for this year.
Hopefully we can squeeze in some time to decorate this weekend.
While I was digging through Amazon to find Valentine’s Day decor, I found a bunch of cute Valentine’s Day tees! I am volunteering at the school parties, so I might have to grab one of these adorable shirts!
This Heart Sweater could be worn all winter long! So soft and pretty!
If you have a little one this top is SO CUTE and it is under $4 (plus shipping).
I LOVE celebrating this season of LOVE with my husband and family:)
*******************************************************************************
That wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites!! I hope you have a great weekend. On Monday, I’ll be back with the second week of the Clear the Clutter Challenge!
I got that heart sweater for my best friend at Christmas and she loves it! Also I am all about saving money but I can’t cut the cable cord yet…just can’t do it! 😉 Have a great weekend Jaclyn!
I just ordered the heart sweater—can’t wait! You can honestly watch all of your shows still–even the Hallmark Channel!!
I like the Tidying Up Show and I do think her methods and system are pretty good. I have been doing the veritcal folding thing for a long time (I think I read it in a magazine). I need to go through our house and the show is definitely giving me a kick in the pants.
The folding makes such a difference! I was always scared to try it because it didn’t seem practical…but I am converted!
SO many favorites I loved- first, I have to start watch Tidying Uo, I have seen so many people mention it! Also your coffee bar is a dream come true and that xoxo buffalo plaid shirt may have to find a spot in my closet! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Brittany. The coffee bar is one of my favorite spots in the house–very fitting since I love coffee:)
I’m kind of scared to watch the Tidying Up show because it might inspire me to get rid of everything and I don’t have time for that! LOL.
But the time you’ll save not having to clean up your clutter is worth it–LOL!
The Tidying Up show kind of stresses me out. The clutter and the fighting and having to thank every piece of clothing. Oh my goodness. Hahaha! I was stressing out by the end of the show! I have been getting rid of clutter this month too and it feels so good!
Some of the stories on Tidying Up are so sad!! But I love seeing how happy they all are after they’ve decluttered!
We cut the cable cord like, 3 years ago now? We haven’t looked back!
Awesome–we haven’t regretted it one bit either!
