Happy Friday and Happy Summer break for many of us! The kids finished up this past Wednesday, so we have quickly moved into summer mode! Today, as usual, I am sharing my favorites of the week and I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites.
Quiet Monday
This week started off VERY quiet. My mom had my youngest at her house for a sleepover and the big kids were still in school. I tried to tackle my to-do list while I had the chance. I’ll admit though, the house was too quiet! Funny that I crave a few moments of peace and quiet, but when I have an empty house, I miss the crazy!!
Although talk to me at the end of August and just maybe I’ll crave that quiet again:)
Trendsend June Review
Tuesday, I shared my latest Trendsend Evereve clothing box. I was surprised by some of the items they sent me, but I did receive some new favorites!
I am a sucker for stripes–especially navy and white! This dress will be thrown on all summer especially after a trip to the pool or beach.
Last Day of School
It’s been non stop activities these last few weeks and now school is officially OVER! The kids had so much fun their last few days of school. I don’t think they did any school work! The last day of school my daughter’s grade had a Pool Party Graduation since they head to Middle School next year. My 3rd grade son had field day on his last day. Unfortunately, the weather was not very cooperative for their events.
But, kids will be kids and they did not seem to be bothering by the cool weather one bit!
Laura of Pembroke Store Opening
Yesterday, my friend and I had a garage sale at my house. I am one of the crazy few people that actually enjoys the garage sale experience! I never have major earnings but I find that it is a good excuse to get rid of things. Plus, it is a fun community experience–talking with neighbors and other customers:) Let’s just say that it was a very unsuccessful garage sale for the amount of work we put into it! NOT a favorite!
However, later that same day, I had the opportunity to attend the GRAND OPENING of a new store in town, Laura of Pembroke! Local friends, this is a store not to be missed! In addition to two area locations, this store is available online here. It is located in Orange Village on Cleveland’s east side, in a BRAND NEW outdoor shopping complex called Pinecrest.. There are so many fabulous stores in this new center including Pottery Barn, West Elm, William Sonoma and a lot of clothing boutiques. Plus, there is a Shake Shack…I believe the first in Cleveland!
Laura of Pembroke is a perfect fit in this new complex. The store features clothing, home furnishings, accessories and jewelry! A little bit of everything. I had so much fun browsing and shopping around the store.
The price point is low, medium and high–this is an intentional approach in order to offer options for a range of budgets. You will find $20 earrings, but also some higher end jewelry. The same goes price ranges go for the clothing and accessories.
One item that came home with me was this cute ruffle top. This shirt was priced at $39.00 and it will be a fun option to wear this summer.
I LOVED all of the home accessories. They carry Mudpie, one of my favorite serving piece brands!
I was swooning over these indigo and white salad tongs and trays by Mudpie.
Laura of Pembroke is a place to go if you are on the hunt for a hostess, wedding or birthday gift! So many fun bar accessories!
These wine stoppers were so cute!
These Eat What You Love bowls were so pretty with the black dots on the outside and what a good reminder as you eat your favorite snack! I snagged two of these bowls!
Also, I loved all of the Kate Spade pieces!
I was so sad to hear about her death, especially how she passed away. It’s hard not to think about her family and most especially her 13 year old daughter.Â
This Kate Spade dress was SO adorable.
In addition, to smaller home decor pieces, the store also carries a HUGE display of lighting and furniture pieces. Everything was so BEAUTIFUL!
This locally and family owned store (three generations) has been around for over 30 years with a main, larger location in Canton, Ohio. Laura of Pembroke is a perfect fit for the Pinecrest shopping complex and I seriously can’t wait to come back here!
Disclosure: Thank you to Laura of Pembroke for inviting me to the Grand Opening and for providing me with a bag full of goodies.Â

That store has so many fun things!
It was a really beautiful store!
Wow what a fun store!!! Lots of really neat treasures!! I’m sorry your garage sale wasn’t that great but I love your perspective of it being a time to fellowship with neighbors 🙂 Have a great time at Cedar Point!! It’s been 10 years since I’ve visited and we absolutely loved it!
Cedar Point is so much fun!! We love going…although my kids aren’t very daring when it comes to roller coasters!
At least the cold weather didn’t stop your kids from having fun!! I hope you have a good time at Cedar Point today. I’ve never been, but I live fairly close to King’s Island in Mason, Ohio so I have passes there. I do love Kate Spade…hearing about her passing was just heartbreaking.

I haven’t been to Kings Island in years!! I remember it being a fun park as well.
That store looks amazing! Wish there was one here.
Yes, it would be great if they had even more locations. Such a good store!!
This post made me want to go shopping!!! Love the look of the new store!!
I felt the same way when I was at the store! They had so many fun things!
I think your love of garage sales comes from your Aunt Caroline. I don’t think I’ve missed a year in 30 years. I have fun and have gotten the process down by pricing as I set an item aside for the sale. I love your new store. Buy everything….you wear it so well….
Wow I didn’t know that about you:) Pricing your items as you put them away is an awesome idea!!! I need to come to your sale…I bet you have some nice home decor items!
LOVE the blue pinstripes!
