Woohoo it’s Friday! I hope you had a good week! It has been a busy one here. I am excited for a quiet pizza and movie night at home tonight. As always, I am linking up with  Today, I will share my fall home decor updates and a review of a fun mom’s night out idea.
First things first, this week was a busy one on this blog! On Monday, we were back with another Clear the Clutter Challenge! This month, the focus was on refrigerator organization. I liked this challenge, because it doesn’t take too long but has the potential to make a big impact. By having an organized fridge, you are more likely to eat healthier and to save money (less wasted food!). Head over to the full post for the details!
Have you joined our Clear the Clutter Facebook group yet? We share tips and inspiration to get your home organized in 2018!
On Tuesday, IÂ talked about healthy snack ideas for busy moms (or anyone!)! I partnered with Pearl to Go Olives to share yummy three snack box ideas. Olives are one of my favorite guilt free snacks (especially when I was doing Whole 30).
Pearl Olives has new flavored olive snack cups that are so yummy!! My favorite flavor is the Siracha–I will warn you that they are hot!!
If you are interested in trying these snack cups, grab your Pearl Olives coupons here! Thanks to Pearl Olives for this partnership!
Finally, on Wednesday I participated in a link up to talk about FALL DECOR! I shared a few updates I made around the house including my bar cart! I am trying to keep our fall decor neutral and simple this year.
Decor Finds of the Week
This week, I stopped into Marshalls with the hopes that I might find some of the Halloween Rae Dunn I’ve been seeing on Instagram. I SCORED big time!
I already had this Pumpkin Spice Mug from last year.
However, I lucked out and found a set of Pumpkin & Spice Mugs! I am trying to be selective and only purchase very unique or holiday mugs. Yes, I am always trying to Clear the Clutter, but these Rae Dunn mugs are “my thing”.
Then, later in the week, I found myself back at Marshalls and I got my two new favorite mugs! I can’t wait to bring out the rest of my Halloween mugs later this month!
Another fun find/purchase that I wanted to tell you about are these LED lights! I keep seeing these lights being used for so many creative spots around the house, that I decided to give them a try.
Yesterday on Instagram, I shared how I installed these lights–less than five minutes for all of them. These lights are awesome! I bought one 6-pack just to make sure I liked them. I wanted to add lighting to our built in bookcase in our dining room. I’ll need to buy another set to complete the bookcase.
Here is a “BEFORE” look!
The lights come with batteries and are operated by a remote control. You can even adjust the brightness by using the remote control. Plus, there are also several timer options! The pack also comes with very strong two sided tape to adhere the lights.
My mom is considering ordering these lights for under the cabinets in her kitchen –which I think will work out great! It’s always nice to find an inexpensive decor option that can make a pretty dramatic impact!
Mom’s Night Out Idea at the Cleveland Candle Co
Last week I mentioned I went to a blogger event at the Cleveland Candle Co. I didn’t have a chance to write about my experience until this week. Local friends you definitely want to check out this spot!
We were treated to a fun experience. I got the chance to create a customized candle, several bath bombs and lip balms!!
Our first activity was to pick out our scents for our customized candle. You can peruse all of the candles on display to help decide on your favorite scents.
Then you take at seat at the candle counter and fill out a survey to help narrow down your personal scent.
While I know what kind of scents I prefer, narrowing it down to a few favorites was so hard! GAH! My favorites scents are typically woodsy and citrus. But, I ended up taking a completely different direction!
One of my fellow Cleveland bloggers (thanks Greatest Escapist!) suggested I should be creating a coffee and pancake candle. Of course!
You get a chance to smell how the different scents will blend together. So, you aren’t committed until you start pouring in the fragrance oils. Even then they can help mix your scents if you don’t like how it turned out.
Once you have decided on your fragrances, you start pouring into a little container. You add more or less of each oil depending on what you want to be the dominating smell.
We then poured our mix into the glass mason jars. There are additional cute candle containers to pick from. I think a Cleveland candle with a winter scent would be a fun holiday housewarming gift!
While our candles were cooling, we headed over to a different station to make the bath bombs and lip balms. I LOVE bath bombs so it was so fun to make my own.
For the bath bombs, you selected one scent. I loved the Cashmere oil. I can’t describe it except it that it is light and fresh!
This class was very hands on! We had to do a lot of stirring and stirring:)
I love how my bath bombs turned out! We each made two bath bombs plus we got to take home the rest to sprinkle in a bath. I have to admit that I’ve already used one bath bomb and I gave the other to my daughter.
Finally, we made lip balms! Again, here we got to select our scents for our own customized lip balm!
I loved that you get to make the products personal with your own names and labels. It is really a nice touch to make the experience so memorable.
Overall, it was a great experience and a fun night out with fellow Cleveland bloggers!
Some details about the Cleveland Candle Co…There are three locations including Ohio City, Cleveland Heights and Mentor! This event was held at the Ohio City location. Such a perfect spot because it’s near all of the best restaurants! This is a great place to consider hosting your next mom’s night, birthday party (for kids too!), wedding shower, book club…you name it! These local owned (by friends!) business strives to use high quality materials. The glass jars are made in the U.S.A and the jar labels are printed in Cleveland. The candle wax is a 100% soy wax blend and 90% of the oils are sourced from Ohio!
Many thanks to the Cleveland Candle Company for inviting me to this fun event! I hope to be back soon!!
