Printable Valentine’s Day Video Game Cards
A few weeks ago, I shared these adorable Fish Themed Valentine’s Day cards. I was excited for my son to use them for school until I remembered that no food treats are allowed. Bummer! Fortunately, next year, he moves up to the intermediate school, so I can use these Goldfish Valentine’s Cards.
We needed to come up with a new Valentine’s Day Card idea. My son loves Video Games. I guess most 8-12 year old boys love gaming. Let’s be honest that kids older than twelve love video games!
I wanted to make sure his Valentine Cards were a good fit for his style! He was so excited that we came up with these Valentine’s Day Video Game Cards. The fun thing about these Gamer Valentine’s Day Treats is that there are a lot of fun gaming themed goodies to pair with the cards.
Since we had to find a treat that was not a food item, we looked for small Video Game gifts. We were able to find a lot of options that were around fifty cents a treat!
All in all, we spent $14 for an entire class worth of Valentine’s Day cards. The last time I looked at Target, the Valentine’s Day cards were $6-$10 and even several weeks out, the cards are already picked over!
How to Assemble
1. Print out these Valentine’s Day Video Game Cards on cardstock paper. There are six Valentine’s Day cards per page.
2. Have your child fill out the card. It is good to do this step before you attach the Valentine’s Day Video Game Cards to the treat bags.
3. Decide on a video game treat to include with the card. These Video Game mini erasers are very inexpensive and a good candy free option. My eight year old picked the erasers. These mini game controller key chains are adorable! Or, if food is allowed at your school, you could look for a Gaming themed candy treat.
4. Punch a hole in each of the Valentine’s Day Video Game cards. Then tie a ribbon through the hole and attach your gift (in a gift bag). These clear treat bags which are perfect for wrapping up this treat. Your local Dollar Store might also sell these treat bags.
That is it! We love coming up with new Valentine’s Day cards for the class parties each year. It is fun to pick a theme that my kids are into at the time. These homemade cards do not take a lot more time than buying store bought cards and they are just a little more unique.
As of this post, the mini erasers are set to arrive tomorrow. I will be sure to update the post with pictures of what our Video Game treat bags look like!
