The sun is shining and the temperatures are above freezing, so it’s time to think about spring! March came in like a LION (hellos snow and wind!), so let’s sure hope it goes out like a LAMB! This week, my focus has been getting our house lightened up and ready for spring. So today, I am sharing my SPRING HOME TOUR! Plus, I’ve got some suggestions for you for inexpensive spring decor options! So stick around!

20 Farmhouse Decor Must Haves for Under $20

SPRING HOME TOUR

As with each of the seasons, I update specific areas of my home versus attempting to change every room and space. My favorite spaces include spots in my kitchen, dining room and one little area in my family room. It is less overwhelming to me if I know I am just swapping out things in certain spots.

I always start with the kitchen and move my way through the rest of the house. This week, I did something “drastic” and swapped out my usual tiered tray for my galvanized tiered stand that I got at Christmas. This galvanized stand is a fun change for spring and summer! I still might use my original stand somewhere else in the house for the next few months. But, I lost steam this week to do anything with the stand yet. So stay tuned for updates:)

My kitchen shelves didn’t get a huge makeover, but I added a little color and greenery.

20 Spring Farmhouse Finds for Under $20

Most of my decor is for Easter and springtime, but I have a little St. Patrick’s Day tribute in one area!

Finally, I’ve given the chalkboard area a little spring love. I still haven’t decided what to write on the chalkboard!!

Now, moving on to the dining room, I updated a few spots including our mantel and dining table. This holiday, I really tried to shop my own house. Besides a few SMALL things like candy and flowers, I did not buy any other decor. It’s amazing what you can find around the house. It brings life into old objects when you move them around and let them be in a new spot.

Spring Farmhouse Mantel

I got the moss green bunny garland last year–so cute! Does anyone else forgot what decor you have until you open the box?! Seeing the garland was a fun surprise.

The tray was a new edition to the table. This table set up is my biggest example of pulling objects from around the house. Each item was found in a different part of the house.

I hadn’t touched my bar cart in a long time, so I gave it a little spring make over.

The little potted flowers were a fifty cent find from my local grocery store! I love using real flowers to add warmth to the home!

I’m always moving things around –it’s a stress relieving activity for me🙂 So, even though I say I’m done decorating, there will probably be a few changes here and there!

20 Spring Home Decor Items Under $20

As I mentioned, it is always good to shop your own house before heading to the stores. That being said, if you are really in need of a few new items then I say go for it! Life’s too short to be surrounded by items in your home that you truly don’t love.

I’ve rounded up some inexpensive spring finds that don’t have to break your budget!

1. Moss Ball Fillers

Anything moss themed is great for the spring time. Little touches of green throughout the house really lighten things up! I just might have to buy these moss filler balls...I’m thinking they would be perfect for my wood tiered tray!

2. Moss Bunny

Speaking of moss, this bunny is too cute not to share. I have a faux green bunny that is always the talk about table when I put him as a centerpiece!

3. Potted Grass

Spring time means the grass starts to turn green. So it’s fitting that potted grass has become a popular decor item this time of year

This potted grass from Target is a fresh, inexpensive option.

Or you can always grow your own grass in a planter! I’ve done this in past years and it is a fun project for the kids to watch and enjoy.

4. Topiaries

Topiary planters are so elegant but can usually be expensive. This under $20 option fits the bill for fancy but affordable!

5. Pillows

Pillows and pillow covers are inexpensive ways to spruce up your couches and benches. There are so many cute options out there!

6. Plastic Eggs

Head to your local dollar store and pick up a pack of eggs to use as decorations! I stick eggs everywhere–in baskets/bowls/trays…you name it! You can’t get any less inexpensive than eggs!

7. Candy

I love using disposable goods as decoration. My gumball machine is my favorite spot to swap out seasonal candy. But, you can also find candy in dishes and mason jars around my house. I love that at the end of the season, the candy is usually gone or I throw the remaining pieces away. Either way, candy is cheap and it doesn’t take up a lot of space!

8. Real Flowers

Real flowers are great as decor anytime of the year! But it is hard to pass up tulips and other fresh flowers this time of year! As I mentioned, I scored fifty cent flowers the other day at the store and have sprinkled the little pots throughout the house.

9. Straws/Napkins

Other disposable spring decor options include festive napkins and straws. I realized I have straws placed in three different places around the house! I have a lot of striped straws in different colors, so I can use them for multiple holidays.

I love this pastel multi color pack of straws!

10. Wooden Bunnies

These little bunnies would look sweet on a mantel or shelf. I have a wooden bunny in my tiered stand!

11. Fruit and Egg Containers

I love ceramic fruit and egg containers for storing and displaying little items! I have a red fruit basket that I bring out during the summer. There are so many fun colors of these baskets.

These egg containers would be perfect for displaying real or plastic eggs!

12. Mugs

Lucky you if you are fortunate enough to score a Rae Dunn Easter mug. My mom found two bunny Rae Dun mugs for me. You can search on ebay for Rae Dunn or you can find other non Rae Dunn options!

These chick mugs are TOO adorable!

13. Lightbox

Another whimsical decor option is a Lightbox! I am always switching up our Lighbox for the season, day or week! This all inclusive set comes with letters, symbols  and images!

14. Colorful Colander

Colanders are a fun kitchen item to use for multiple functions. Fill a bright colored colander with lemons or faux eggs for a pretty centerpiece.

This bright blue one would be make a great statement on a table or counter.

15. Wire Baskets

Wire baskets are so versatile and they can be used year round. Fill up the basket with grass and eggs or a faux plant (I’ve done both). This wire market basket with handles is perfect!

16. Grass/Straw Filler

Grass filler doesn’t just have to be for the kids’ Easter baskets! I stuck some in my galvanized stand and in various bowls around the house. Filler is cheap and, we all know, it lasts forever!

17. Signs

There are so many sign options at reasonable prices. I love this simple, rustic Spring sign that is a great deal!

18. Throw Blanket

This item might be hard to find for under $20.  But, perhaps you have a pink or other light colored blanket somewhere around the house that you can throw on the couch! If you don’t have an option, this light colored blanket at just over $20 is so pretty! It would be a great blanket that would look great through summer!

19. Stuffed Animal Peep

So this little guy might not be the most sophisticated decoration but he sure is cute! I like throwing in some whimsical elements to the home.

20. Bunny Garland

Last but not least is garland for the mantel. I’ve talked about my love of garland in many of my home posts! It is a perfect finishing touch to a mantel display.

This burlap bunny garland is adorable and so affordable!

I love this option too! It is hard to decide.

Phew, that was a long post! Hope you stuck around until the end and perhaps you were able to find a little bit of spring home decor inspiration! I’d love to hear what kind of elements you like to use when decorating for the spring season!

Oh my goodness! So many things to LOVE! I love the simple touches to your shelves and I’m LOVING the peep pillows! Give me all the whimsy! Quick question – where did your black and white plates come from? I know you asked about mine – I ordered mine from TJ Maxx.

Oh, and for your chalkboard – here’s an idea:
    “I said a
    hip hop
    the hippie
    the hippie
    to the
    hip hip
    hop”
    🙂

You have so much Rae Dunn! I’m jealous. I love the idea of growing your own grass. That might be really cute in Rae Dunn planters! I just wish they were less than $20 for a set…maybe I’ll go for it anyway though!
